I don't think he Burger trade was bad (I was one of the only ones defending the trade at the time). We sold at his peak and he's been awful since.

Dave Dombrowski is on record stating that they told the Sox they would not be willing to give up Devers when the Sox asked for Devers to be included in the trade and the Sox had to come back with different players. In an alternate universe where Devers is the headliner and not Moncada, sure, he was on the table. But in ours, in the trade we made, he wasn't.

They didn't settle for Moncada, Devers was never on the table.

It sure as hell is more fun than 3-22 though, I think we can all agree on that. And not only that, we can't draft higher than 10th, so trying to win makes too much sense.
