  1. I love me some bad arm-chair GM'ing!
  2. Your posts make this board hard to read to be honest. It's sad.
  3. He hit you with the laugh emoji, but you dropped facts and are 100% correct.
  4. Contention for me is the playoffs and the potential to win a series or two. Contention for me is not winning 80 games and "contending" for the division title simply because the rest of the division is bad or not ready to contend.
  5. Yes 2025 does matter. And I don't think the Sox are close to contending in 2020 so I think the question to ask is "Does 2020 really matter?"
  6. You get a pretty accurate picture of who is reacting and how based on the post content and participation in a given thread lol.
  7. No. I'm saying that that question, in this thread, reeks of trying to get people even more riled up. Trading away Moncada is in itself not something that is any way realistic considering the circumstances. Even less so based on the fact that we would get nowhere near the return we sent out to trade for him in the first place. That being said..I realllly hope you were just being facetious to lighten the mood up in here a bit. That would make a lot more sense than actually bringing up the notion of trading Moncada right now.
  8. No of course not, just like there's no chance that Moncada will be as good as Kyle is defensively now. That's how this works right?
  9. Who cares? That's such a loaded question in light of this thread and the path it has taken down into the shitter. I don't understand the point of the question other than to incite posters here even further about this admittedly touchy subject.
  10. Refer to his other posts and you would see a running theme of negative connotations. It is what is I guess.
  11. Uhh "positively quoted" stats of 2 random players to comparatively say that the actual player being discussed is not as good as said players (and implying he never will be). If it ain't doom and gloom, it's being a pessimist to the fucking extreme for no reason.
  12. It's like.. you don't know how any of this stuff works and just like to complain about the FO. My goodness ?.
  13. Don't confuse your confirmation bias with reality sir. Andrew was ahead of Moncada developmentally, already producing for the Big League club and never actually on the table in a trade. Obfuscation of the facts is disingenuous and doesn't add to the discussion to be honest.
  14. Huh? No. He'll play wherever HE wants to because he CAN dictate that considering HE chooses who he wants to sign with. Being a free agent doesn't mean you have to sign with whomever pays you the most, not sure if you're being facetious or if you genuinely didn't know that.
  15. He was voted in..it had nothing to do with every team getting one guy. I mean..
  16. This is correct. Why ANY White Sox fan would ever give Kaplan more than a side eyed glance and a hearty chuckle is beyond me. He's a self serving Cubs HOMER and has never been able to talk about the Sox in any sort of neutral way or without segueing to something about the Cubs (even when they were trash).
  17. You do understand that's not how baseball works right? That's a hot take if I've ever seen one, my goodness ???.
  18. QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ Sep 27, 2017 -> 11:20 AM) What do we think of the sample size though? Is it large enough to draw those conclusions? Yes of course it is. It's like you aren't even aware of who Moncada is or projects to be as a player.
  19. Most of this roster will be completely unrecognizable in 2-3 years. I have no clue how this matters at all, let alone how it's an epidemic?
  20. QUOTE (Soha @ Sep 24, 2017 -> 05:07 PM) If the Reds picked up 3 games on the Sox in the last 5 games - then how is picking up 2 more in the last 6 'remote'? Especially with them ina tailspin and the Sox playing well. I mean, yeah the Sox are likely to hold that 4th slot. But it's far from certain or remote. I was being hyperbolic. I noticed the quoted poster always tints post in a negative light. Remote maybe wasn't the right word. Unlikely would have been better.
  21. QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 24, 2017 -> 02:43 PM) If the Sox win tomorrow, they'll be two ahead of the Reds with six left. They go to Milwaukee and Wrigley to finish. Dropping to 5th is still a decent possibility. No, it's a remote possibility. What's with the glass is half empty thing?
