  1. Waste of what, $5 or $10? Hell a big mac costs more than most people donated. I think this is great.
  2. So Jerry...when are you going to spend that money that was hoarded during the lean rebuild years? We were promised.
  3. I 100% agree. I'm hoping Sosa takes the job and runs with it.
  4. Moving out of the Chicago area is the only thing that would make me stop being a Sox fan. And if they did move, it would only be a matter of time until a different team relocated to be Chicago's 2nd team. Just because Jerry has failed to capitalize on the pot of gold that is Chicago's sports market, doesn't mean other owners or potential owners wont see the opportunity clear as day.
  5. It's official. We're fans of the most dysfunctional organization in professional sports in North America.
  6. Sorry, I'm out of the loop. Who is LioninTexas?
  7. In 42 of your ownership Jerry, the Sox have only won a playoff series in 2005. Don't you think you owe the fans more than that?
  8. I think the window is creeping towards closing, but it's not there yet. Instead of being 8-1 co-favorites or whatever they were a year or two ago, they're probably 25-1 or 30-1 maybe. Highly unlikely they win it, but the chance is there. A million things have to go right of course.
  9. That's betting this team's success on Colas making the team and not having typical rookie struggles.
  10. I'm a big Hawk fan. Didn't love Benetti much, but I've warmed up to him a bit. Yes he sounds like a robot that came right out of an announcer school. But he's improved a decent bit I think.
  11. We can only guess obviously - but back surgery is a really big life decision. Many times back surgeries go the wrong way, and then you're stuck with the fallout for the rest of your life. If his back problem doesn't affect his regular life in a negative way, and knowing his baseball career is near the end regardless, then he probably made the best choice for himself.
  12. Eh, did you copy that from Heisen, or is that you? I thought you were clyde at HF?
  13. BTW I adore that the Twins signed Gallo. Cant wait to see him whiff 4 straight times to Cease.
  14. Well I'm going to have to eat a little crow here. I didn't think Jerry was going to throw around any of his nickels this off-season. Benintendi is far from the impact player this team needs, But he does fill a void. A high OBP guy hitting before Eloy and Robert (if our new hitting coaches can resurge their power), could lead to a lot of 2 and 3 run homers, something we saw precious little of last year.
  15. That's kind of my thought. None of these guys excite me. Gallo - it's hard to imagine him not being terrible if they sign him. He ended last year as one of the worst hitters in baseball. If that trend continues, good Lord. Benintendi - he has no power, which the Sox desperately need, and you're buying high on him off a career year. Nah. I guess I would prefer Conforto, on the off chance he is somewhat healthy and returns to form from a couple of years ago.
  16. Damn, I thought for sure he was coming to the Sox
  17. I think trading Hendriks will have a bad net result on the White Sox. He converted 37 of 41 save opportunities, and I just cant imagine Reylo being even close to that. Hendriks was a big reason last year's mess of a team managed to stay at .500. He locked s%*# down when it got to the 9th inning. But I get it...our owner wants his bank account padded and they need to trim payroll.
  18. You do it like other leagues. You negotiate a set % of revenues, which determines the cap and cap floor. While I firmly believe teams are making gobs of money and in general should spend more. I don't think they can be blamed for not spending at the Mets level. I doubt revenues are that high to support a $420 mil payroll + tax (I think I heard 420 mil yesterday).
  19. Two things... 1) The money is there, it's just that Jerry won't let it see the light of day. The White Sox themselves told us over and over that the money is there. 2) I wasn't one of the fans getting on you about Outman. But you were kind of obsessing over a tweener triple a star who turns 26 early next season. Those types usually are fool's gold.
  20. Can the Mets buy Jerry Reinsdorf? Please?
  21. But they're not going to GTFO and nobody can make them. That's the problem. Even in a big market we're screwed while this guy owns the team.
  22. This is a weird take, given that these 'team friendly' deals have had a pretty big slant towards the players lately.
  23. You might be right. You probably are. But what would the return be for Hendriks and TA to the Dodgers? Is Gavin Lux and a couple of nice prospects out of reach? I'm not sure on that, and that's why I'm asking. Because if you can throw Lux at 2B...re-sign Andrus, and let him and Sosa battle it out for shortstop (I'll secretly be hoping Sosa kills it and takes the job).. The loss of TA and Hendrik's salary's hopefully would spur our budget minded owner to spending on someone like Michael Conforto in the outfield. I know that's a lot of if's, but I think there's a very real chance of being a better team than last year. Maybe even the best team we've seen during these 'rebuild' years. I am a fan of TA. He's the one current guy I own a jersey of. But like Soxace, I think it's counter-productive to leave him at SS with all errors he commits. Those errors have cost the Sox a lot of games and that should be stabilized.
  24. The fan base has been molded in to what it is by 42 years of Jerry Reinsdorf's mediocre ownership. The White Sox are a potential goldmine for a new owner if they think outside of the box.
