A lot of us fans don't like being lied to, as we were by Sox management. So they can see the results of their lies via the attendance this year. I won't be going to any games this season, though I do watch most games on tv.

The Rick Hahn Haters thread, sponsored by Balta1701 and Jack Parkman

Did Reinsdorf trade Tatis Jr. for a garbage pitcher? They all deserve scorn. -
Nope. There's been some individual surprises, but the team is basically what most of us expected.
-
That play reminds me of NHL teams challenging offsides on a goal against, when it happened 40 seconds earlier and had nothing to do with the play. Detroit should be embarrassed for challenging this. Just man up and accept that you gave up a long ball and move on.
-
That was just dumb. What's next, a walk off home run where the whole team mobs the guy at the plate. Are they going to challenge that since they probably don't actually touch the plate half the time (while they are being mobbed by 15 teammates near the plate)?

Gregor: Sox talking about bringing up top prospects sooner
Sarava replied to Sockin's topic in Pale Hose Talk
But yeah, this does wreak of desperation to me as well. I think think the Sox know the last year has taken the air out of the rebuild balloon. Fans are losing patience with some of the underperforming prospects, combined with the Machado/Harper fiasco. They desperately need positive vibes. Maybe Hahn is actually feeling some heat? -

It's too late to fast-track Cease, since he's nearly ready already. I think this has got to be about Luis Robert. If he can actually keep his hands healthy. -
When was the last fundamentally solid White Sox team?
Sarava replied to ron883's topic in Pale Hose Talk
IDK, but it's been a long time. While you don't expect winning seasons from garbage rosters - what the Sox have gotten in terms of potential, development and fundamentals has been terrible in recent years. I think they are overdue for a clean wipe of all major league coaches. -
FS: White Sox Interested in signing Cuban SS Yolbert Sanchez
Sarava replied to Y2Jimmy0's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Hard to get excited about a guy who's ceiling is thought to be as a utility player. Sounds like the Sox are 'on the cheap' once again. This is becoming a bit too frequent now. -
That wasn't a strike

Nice!

I'm not going to be too hard on Eloy. He probably catches that easy if Tim stays the hell away from the play. I'm more concerned with Palka. I wish we had Avi out there instead of Palka.
-
Can't wait to see Eloy again. Hope he is more settled down today. So I was in the fedex store this morning and I'm wearing my Sox jacket. The employee says, hey I'm a Sox fan too. And then he starts going off about how he can't believe they blew the Machado thing. I was like oh dude, don't get me started again. At least I know it's not just me still pissed off about it. Oh well, go Sox today! Let's get the first win!

I can't say that I'm confident that Collins will rake enough to stick at 1B.
-
Yeah. Still have him as my avatar. It would be huge for the Sox if he got back to his 2017 form.
-
Hoping for a surprise, but I'll go with 11-19.
-
I don't get not liking the Jimenez deal. Even if he ends up being terrible, in big league dollar terms, it's a small loss. If he ends up being good, it's a great deal and buys the extra year. Now Machado - that's a different story. I'll be disappointed if Sox fans let JR, Hahn and KW off the hook on this one. That's what they want - for us all to forget it and move on.
-
As much as I hate the White Sox cheapskate ways, this is not the way to spend money widely. To consider a deal like this, you need more than 1 year of UFA.
-
Something seems off. I don't see them committing 100 mil to only get one UFA year out of him. Not for a guy that hasn't faced a single pitch in the show yet. It doesn't make sense, and certainly doesn't fit in the mold of what these cheapskates normally do.
-
Steve Carlton wasn't bad with the Sox. A few too many walks, but he did fine in his 10 starts.
-
This all is still depressing. Going to be ridiculously hard to win a World Series if these guys are too cheap to pay for premium free agents. Even if many of the prospects pan out (which they havent done so far).
-
A Mark Cuban would be awesome. The only thing better would of been if we got an owner like him in time for this winter's free agent class. Might not see anything like this again for 10 years.

KW: "It's a shame" the Sox are being portrayed as cheap
Sarava replied to Jose Abreu's topic in Pale Hose Talk
The Durham Bulls have given out bigger contracts than the White Sox. It's unreal how much this off-season has made me detest our ownership and management. They hoarded money these last few years and decided to stuff it in their pocket instead of spending it as they promised. Jerks.
