My dad always hated Santo for yelling at Don Young after Young made a couple errors in a key, late-season game against the Mets. I think my dad pretty much had a problem with any baseball player. He thought they were all prima donnas, and anytime I expressed excitement about any player, my dad was sure to let me know what jerks they probably were. I liked Santo as a kid. I think he belonged in the HOF.

And does this "mystery team" who is in on every player even play any regulation baseball games? It's like playing Guts with the extra dummy hand.

Well, MLB has certainly "fixed" all the things that reporters were screaming about baseball - long games, different DH rules between leagues, so, of course, for reporters who get to retweet each others hot takes on their 2 hour games, it will be a renaissance.

Yeah, Marco Gonzalez wouldn't be a move to compete. It's a move to keep Jesse Scholtens out of the rotation, and perhaps have a guy to tweak and flip, though I think we throw that concept around pretty freely. I want to be positive about Soroka, but he could end up being 3rd inning mop up by the end of April. I've always felt Getz has to stock-pile 10-12 rotation arms between AAA and the big club.

With Chris Getz and AA basically having an open line between them, I'm surprised the White Sox weren't in on Marco Gonzalez. I still think they're a couple of warm bodies away from a finished rotation. It seems this whole offseason is about stock-piling capable options who won't be blocking anybody.

And if the clubhouse was such a house of horrors, just removing a bit of the negativity might get everybody pushing in the same direction.

I guess I'm being argumentative with this, but if Benintendi is playing 2 bWAR baseball, why trade him? We have no OF depth, he's not blocking anybody, and that's probably fair value for his contract.

I don't know anything. But I'm guessing the KW/Hahn dynamic was purely toxic. The fact that such a big deal was made about a single decision maker says to me that a lot of mixed messages were flying around at so many levels.
