  1. Weird how the Dodgers, the gold standard for pitcher health, only found this out at the beginning of spring training, and didn't start treatment the day after the World Series.
  2. March and April TJS arise from doing a full work up and deciding TJS is the answer at the beginning or during of ST. You have a doctor telling you they're not getting burned. But I'm sure there's no anti-White Sox bias in your statement that the rest of the league "is over" TJS in spring training. And seriously, "hot garbage" and "bum" is regularly thrown around describing guys just doing a job. I can't imagine those people have a deep sense of caring when they deride these guys.
  3. A big part of the offensive problem last year was when 3 starters went down, they were quickly into AAA utility infielders OPSing .500. At least if they create a logjam, they can rotate until they find somebody who will stick.
  4. About 25% of all TJS happen in March and April. It's throughout the game.
  5. It sends the message of "Be better than Fletcher, and take his job".
  6. I've had it beaten into my head that everybody on Earth knew that Robert, Eloy and Yoan would all be injured by game 11, and that Getz should have known that too. I can only assume that Luis Robert will be out by game 11, again, because history, and we will stumble into the TDL with Robert putting up a strong month coming off the IL. I think that trading Robert in spring training would also be for the reason of avoiding carrying him on the IL for 2 months and reducing return.
  7. They just signed the guy you've been screaming all along they should have signed last year. LOL.
  8. One must remember to stretch before reaching over to cover your heart while saying the Pledge of Allegiance.
  9. We seem to be forgetting that Robert put up 0.5 fWAR last year, OPSing .657.
  10. I would imagine that for every TJS at the beginning of spring training, there's a couple guys who just rested for a month or so over the winter and healed up.
  11. Chris Getz and I would like to order room service in this head of yours. Can you think a menu?
  12. I completely agree with all of this. Yes, he has to start "winning" (I agree with your definition) the Fletcher/Mena, Horn/Thompson trades. So much money and resources have been invested in getting Matt Thompson right to the verge of his real estate career, somebody's got to pay with, at least, a younger version of Matt Thompson.
  13. Yeah, I'd have to say I'm with WS23 here. Looking back on all the position players moved at the deadline, there's not a lot of pizzazz moving one way, or the other. I mean, maybe Getz could be trying to recreate trading up on a paper clip to a house, but there's no number of william bergollas that leap the stream to a top 20 prospect.
  14. Burke's going to start 33 games, and strike out every batter he faces, throwing 33 perfect games. That should equal 891 strikeouts, but he'll probably have to pitch a perfect, 3-strikeout 10th a couple of times, too. Mark it down, you heard it here, first.
  15. So then the kids ignored the father's wishes and picked a franchise that was popular now, even though he had a pretty rough reception from Philadelphia fans? I'd put my money on the family being put off by Reinsdorf's pallid support and shitty remarks that they'd just go with the Phils.
  16. Attacking? LOL. Calm down, already. Nobody attacked anybody. I've been very nice, and make sure to let everyone know that I want them to criticize Reinsdorf, Getz and the White Sox. If you want to call 2024 Hot Garbage, I invite you to. Going forward, I disagree. Simple as that. Need a band-aid? Davis Martin made 10 starts and racked up 0.9 bWAR. Sean Burke made 3 and racked up the same 0.9 bWAR. They weren't the problem. Jonathan Cannon made some adjustments and turned out to be a pretty reliable starter.
