If a position player takes the mound to pitch, they still keep their place in the batting order as pitcher. The sub at 1B would then bat in the DH's spot, and the DH would be forfeited for the rest of the game. The Ohtani rule allows the starting pitcher to be both DH and P. If Ohtani is removed for a reliever, he can remain as DH, or if he's pinch-hit for, he can remain as pitcher.

Sox select Chuckie Robinson, DFA Ellis and then claimed by Mets

We were taught this in little league when you couldn't even take lead-offs. After the ball hits the catcher's mitt, start looking like you're going to run. When the catcher decides you're not going to run, and lobs it back to the pitcher, take off for second. -
CANNON FIRE! And that is a White Sox winner!

He's not showing the preceding tweet that talks about Brebbia joking. Again, there's so much wrong with the Sox this year, we really don't have to make up BS to complain about. -
Fine. He has made changes that have made him more effective. From SoxMachine: https://soxmachine.com/2024/06/pregame-notes-how-to-tell-if-your-pitcher-is-tired/

I believe that takes 7 days to find out. We're 3 days in. -
It's one thing to say that the team is bad. It's quite another to chase down any bit of convo that isn't negative, and chastise the commenter because they're "delusional" or whatnot. If somebody interrupted you every sentence to remind you that you were going to die one day, so nothing you say or do matters, you would embrace that and thank them for the reminder every time, right? LOL.

And now the Yankees are down a first baseman.

Some of the people that you're saying will never be traded, or that you seriously doubt will be traded are names that are showing up in reporting on teams' interest in Sox players. I'm not sure why your negativity stretches to denying that anybody on this team will be traded. A team trading for Brebbia will be on the hook for $1.3 million the rest of 2024, then either $1.5 buyout, or $6m for 2025. None of those are crazy money that teams would shy away from. Again, he's had 5 bad outings in 30. That's why his ERA looks bad. He's been consistent since the end of May.

If somebody's on the cusp on Wild Card contention, has nothing in 2 rotation spots, and if the top of the market's too dear for them, they can slot down and just pick up an available innings eater.

Kenyan Middleton brought back an A-ball starting pitching prospect. Graveman brought back our current starting catcher. Joe Kelly's inclusion in the Lynn deal most likely goosed the Nastrini/Leasure return, as did Lopez' inclusion in the Giolito trade. Reynaldo Lopez' and Joe Kelly's stats weren't all that stellar when they were traded. I get the need to be compulsively negative on every comment. I'm guessing you don't really know what return they're going to get for Brebbia, or that they're only trading him to save money.

Rounds 2-20 are slotted by overall record.

In his last 9 appearances, Brebbia sported a 1.17 ERA, struck out 2 batters per inning, and has a WHIP under 1.00. His season's ERA is skewed by 5 bad outings in 30 appearances. Any team in contention acquiring Brebbia would probably pick up his 2025 option if he pitches adequately.

1) Most of our prospects were too far away to focus on their development at the major league level. However, Leasure, Fletcher, Sosa, Ramos, Cannon, Thorpe, Lee, Colas, DeLoach, Julks, Nastrini and Colas have all seen time on the ML club. 2) The players acquired for this year will be traded for prospects. Grossman has already brought back a AA reliever. Fedde, Flexen, Clevinger, Brebbia, Wilson, Pham and DeJong will most likely be moved for prospects. The meaningless nature of the games has afforded them the opportunity to give Sheets extended playing time, check out Crochet as a starter, and give Kopech a chance to showcase himself as a closer. I don't think Getz really thought this team would be "competitive", but who knows? He sounds clueless on how to elucidate the restrictions placed on him this season without actually acknowledging them. What else is he going to say when directly asked about firing the manager? We all seem to keep forgetting that his lineup was saddled with 5 players who either got injured, or started the season in a horrible slump. Or both.
