4/8 Sox @ Cleveland (4:10CT) - Banks vs. McKenzie

If Benny, DeJong, Lopez and Maldonado are all "historically" bad, you don't think anybody has an OF at AAA they'd trade who could do better? Tommy Pham's out there. He could replace Pillar, and knock Benny to the bench. -

If you really think this team is going to go 18-144, I don't know what to say. I don't think Benintendi, Yoan, Vaughn, Grossman, Eloy, DeJong, Lopez and Maldonado will become different hitters, hit .400 and start knocking out HRs. Before yesterday's game, 5 of their starters were OPSing under .500. They'll either clean that up, or get replaced by guys who hit. -

They're a bad team going through a streak, IMO. They should be picking one or two off in KC, and getting swept by the Braves. The pitching looks good enough. -

I always hated when people pulled this performative BS at work. You're not being less productive, or focused to walk outside and look up in the air for 10 seconds. -

At this point, if Shew and Sosa are considered "glove men", they should both be starting, and keep Lopez as the backup. The double platoon seems wasteful of roster spots, both 26 and 40-man. -
If the game he threw against Atlanta is what a healthy, built-up Crocket can do regularly, I don't think teams would/can pay what he's worth, and I don't think Getz would sell low on the injury risk. That's better than Cease's ceiling, in my opinion. Cease is more durable, but Crochet has a dominance I never felt with Cease.

I honestly think that if Grifol got the boot, Justin Jirschele would ascend to the MLB manager's seat. If not this year, then next. I like Ozzie. I don't think he completely burnt out his team, but he completely ruined his reputation by hanging Dunn out to dry during a career slump, then Ozzie quit on the team due to contract garbage. The more I type, the more I realize he would never be asked to manage again. Unless, of course, if Reinsdorf thought it would light a spark...

@chitownsportsfan, I don't know what the Tony LaRussa emoji means. Are you drinking and driving?
-
I don't think he wore out the team like Ditka. The lack of 2nd chances probably stems from the Castro remarks and his calling Jay Mariotti bad names. Motivated, I think Ozzie could get the most out of these guys. They don't have the sluggers, so maybe they could eke out an extra run or two a game and win a few.

So you're saying, they should fire him tonight, but promise him a good reference, and they won't challenge his unemployment?
-
Dude, I 100% agree with you on that.
-
No team is good as they look on a winning streak, and they're not as bad as they look on a losing streak. We can all play the game of, "Oh noes!!! Will they win 10 games?!? I am so forlorned!!" Without looking it up, I seem to remember Salvy being not as bad, defensively, as Maldonado. They need anybody to start hitting.
-
He wouldn't be an automatic out in the 8 or 9 spot. Dude hits. With a fragile Eloy, you could park him as the DH, and have Stassi and Lee catch. I don't think KC would have traded him, tho. But it's not quite the "I am rolling on the floor, laughing my ass off at you" thought game everybody treated it like when we were signing DeJong and Pillar.

I've had it hammered into my head, here, that our farm system is barren of prospects beyond Colson Montgomery.
-
Then I have a great idea, Goofy. If my comments hurt your fee-fees so horribly, why don't you just "ignore"? I scroll through so many of your dumb comments I fear my eyes will get stuck in "rolling" mode. Your little, incoherent temper tantrum certainly didn't call anybody out. Maybe you should find a hobby. Like not trying to police the internet. F-asterisk-asterisk-asterisk your own self off.

And you're an argumentative tool who needs to prove something. You're the only one getting angry, here. A couple others calmly explained why Perez wasn't preferable. You take exception that opinions you don't agree with can exist on the internet. Why does other people wanting to be right make you angry? Did you have an unhappy childhood? And besides, you can't blame me. Apparently, Jerry Reinsdorf is responsible for all bad behavior on White Sox boards. Take it up with him.
-
You already asked who cares. I guess the answer to that question is that Paulie4Pres cares, very, very much. Why do you care about spending Reinsdorf's money? That's the weirdest thing. Everybody screams that Reinsdorf is cheap, then collapses into a ball and cries about spending his money. They should trade for Perez, then sign him to a 5-year $120 million extension so that everyone could finally celebrate having a $100 million contract. Then everyone would be happy. Including you.
-
Then who fucking cares if it's a small sample size? Seems like you're going for even more meaningless wins. Maybe you can find the one person you're trying to impress and just ask them for a hug.
-
Wow, are you a baseball scout or something? You seem really smart about baseball. LOL. Guess what? Pick any offensive number, and Perez's will be better than Maldonado's. I'm happy to have explained that to you.
-
Do you know what a .761 lifetime OPS is?
-
I'd promote Colas, demote Vaughn, fire Grifol, promote Justin Jirschele. It's actually funny that everyone screamed that they didn't want Salvy Perez on this team. Dude's OPSing .879. Can't have that because Royals.
-
There are two teams without a win, yet. They really haven't been "the worst".
-
Maldonado should be the day game after night game catcher, at this point.
