  1. Maybe Maldonado accepts being a coach, and maybe they decide they can deal with the diminished defense during LHP starts, and Grossman's in the OF. DeJong will be here until Monty wrests the position away.
  2. I'm just happy that I figured out that if I'm dreaming that I'm inappropriately urinating in a clothes rack in a department store, or in somebody's kitchen, pulling bowls out of the cupboard to whiz in, WAKE THE f*** UP!!!
  3. Not yet, but I'm sure I'm getting there. Fiber doesn't help, right?
  4. I really hope Korey Lee gets the Saturday start. He probably won't until Sunday. Maybe Maldonado will get an enlarged prostate, and have to take the elderly facility's PACE van to the hospital for a CT Scan on Saturday.
  5. I completely agree with this. Vaughn was robbed a couple of times at bat, tho.
  6. Eat crow? I was told the entire pitching staff would eat balls from game one, basically. They looked good. This is like 1.5 on a 1-10 scale of wanting everyone to eat crow.
  7. They're still pro hitters. I'm not sure what we're doing, here. Crochet had a very good game. Around a 70 game score. We aren't talking our way out of that.
  8. Yesterday, there were zero games of the season played. Today there is one. People were registering hot takes before any games were played. Clowning, if you will. I'm at least happy after one real game. I'd be surprised if Crochet gets much beyond 90-100 innings this season. I don't know, CWS, people are calling me "chris" because I'm not falling in line and repeating their negative statements. When everybody starts screaming about some innocuous move, and my opinion is along the lines of, "I don't like it, but I don't think that's so far out of line", I become Chris Getz's burner account. I'm glad you're cautiously content with Crochet's pitching line today.
  9. I'm totally being measured. It's not really my job to make excuses for an offense that some are picking to be in the first place mix at the end of the season. And somehow, those excuses aren't applying to the Sox hitters today. I wonder why. I'm very happy with the way the pitching staff looked today. Kopech looks to be the weakest link. And that's good.
  10. That'll happen against a very good pitcher. It's weird how you guys get surprised when a very good pitcher throws a great game.
  11. Why don't you "talk to me" once you start being right about anything? All I've heard all spring was that this pitching staff will "blow". They blew, alright. They blew pitches by Detroit hitters all day. I tried to warn y'all to not get your hopes up regular bullpen melt-downs. Now you have to keep your therapist on retainer because you can't crow about that. I guess you'll have to cheer yourself up tonight by watching some Twitter car crash video account.
  12. Yes, one game is way too soon to make a call on a single pitcher, or the whole staff. Weird how that doesn't apply to the dudes launching hot takes at zero games. If it's okay with you, I'll feel good about how pitching looked today. You can wring your hands and kvetch about everything else.
  13. Of course it matters. If they can flip Soroka, Brebbia this year, that's worth some prospects. It's a rebuild year.
  14. Well, Crochet was taken off of his hands as soon as he was drafted. Getz probably mentored him on dominating the opposition all winter. It paid off.
  15. The joke of "what was his job before this...?" Was old the 1st time it was repeated. He had a job that didn't have 100% autonomy. Some of his suggestions were probably taken into account, and I'm sure others were ignored.
  16. It's a good think the people who made that decision aren't in the organization, anymore.
  17. Sure they did. Nicky hit a couple of bullets at OFs. Vaughn was cheated a few times.
  18. Getz personally developed our opening day starter. The ones who had to tell everyone numerous times that Crochet was a glorified opener seem strangely silent about that, now.
  19. Scholtens is already on the 60-day IL. I think they've cut away all the fat they had. They just DFA'ed their last AAA reliever. They'd probably be down to Bailey Horn, and Speas, and they already have 2 LHH AAA RFs (DeLoach, Colas), not counting the veteran AAAA detritus.
  20. Canaan Smith-Njigba is afoot again, today. Pirates cut him, and I think there's a finite number of times he can be outrighted, but this might be his first outrighting, I don't know. We'll see. He passed by the 8 worst teams (by last year's records) twice, already.
  21. I dreamt I tuned in late. The Tigers scored one in the top of the first, but the Sox countered with 4 in the bottom half, and 1 in the 2nd. I'm gonna say Sox, 7-2.
