  1. Yup. 4 baserunners in an inning, one run. Mid-season form. At least it's improving. 2023 would sometimes take 5 baserunners in an inning to push a run across.
  2. Obsession? These are most probably pitchers that Bannister has worked with in the past. We've also signed some guys who were with him on the Giants. It's a minor league signing. We need to fill out a pitching staff at AAA, too. If he's got anything left in the tank and is a small fix away from being a 5th starter option, so be it. The injury to Scholtens and Touki's disastrous outings highlight the need for fungible arms.

I think it's more that he just needs a good half season in the minors with some intense learning. Either fielding, managing the strike zone or getting 1B reps. The 1B reps are the most telling to me. Either they don't see a RFer when they look at him, or they're lining up 5 bench lefty hitters to make Sheetz expendable to somebody.

Two weeks in. I wonder if anybody is close to being cut. They're playing B games every day that aren't reported on. So can't really tell who is just cooked or not.
  5. He did 2 whole months in Charlotte last year. Maybe his spring training is really 5 months to ramp himself up, now.
  6. Rain delay. Here's Phoenix radar, if you need something to watch. https://weather.com/weather/radar/interactive/l/5c30704b1599124ce3b6f628c3186e38f21f131aadc70f7401d3045a3844497c
  7. Chuckie, CTSF. CTSF, Chuckie.
  8. Watching highlights today, who keeps saying, "Hey, now!!"? That would make me turn the sound down after multiple exclamations.
  9. If DeJong is going to have a dead cat bounce of a season, that could be a nice pick up.
  10. Sounded like the MC at a strip club trying a little too hard to rustle up applause.
  11. Why did he put Touki out for the next inning? Is he trying to get him on the 60-day IL so he doesn't have to cut him?
  12. It's like a man and a high school kid. At the end, Konerko asks Vaughn what year he's in. Then Konerko tells him, yeah, this is your make or break year, basically.
  13. Somebody posted a video of Konerko meeting Vaughn on Twitter in the cage for a talk. Looked like Konerko was asking him about different parts of his set-up and scolding him for them. I'll look for it.
  14. SoxMachine had an article over the winter about how both Scholtens and Touki had an incredible amount of luck. Neither had swing and miss stuff. Maybe Touki caught lightning in a bottle. But then it got out.
  15. Atlanta had him for less than 24 hours. Did they scout him taking his kid to the hospital? I'm guessing he's in great shape, and there were fist fights in the Braves front office once the trade was announced.
  16. "Luck" is preparation meeting opportunity.
  17. I would also consider an Oscar Colas that was eager to work on his fielding, strike-zone judgement and even take reps at 1B to be a victory for this team. Seems like he was not happy last year. I want happy players.
  18. Okay, I guess I'm getting as negative towards the frustrated people. I would think that if Fletcher was an effective platoon piece still on the team, and Bailey Horn was one of the late inning options, those would be good developments.
