  1. I think it’s more likely Collins goes to AAA than gets traded for a reliever. I don’t think you should ever give up prospects for a reliever unless it’s the final push for a World Series.
  2. Bumping this thread because this seems like a possibility for our next move (along with a bullpen arm). Although, I still wonder what happens with Collins if we sign EE. Does he just stay in AAA this year?
  3. The picture was already clear that we have preferred to avoid Boras clients in the past, so we’re on the same page there. I even agreed with you on that front in an earlier post But I didn’t believe that meant we were too petty to do business with him this offseason. I truly believed we would sign a Boras client, which is why I felt that discussing the past was pointless.
  4. You were saying? I wish I could have bet you. It’s actually pretty well known that you were wrong...but perhaps you haven’t seen the news yet. You’re probably still exhausted from how “tiring” it was when people kept posting unreliable sources/rumors that Keuchel had agreed with the Sox.
  5. What if the plan is to fill as many holes as possible this offseason to get this team back to competing for the playoffs, and then once you are competitive again, you make the huge signing (Betts) to push you over the top? You’ll probably just say there’s no way they sign Betts (and you might be right), but either way, I think this was a necessary first step to move from 72 wins to a playoff contender.
  6. So many people continually claimed that Hahn had zero backup plan after missing on Wheeler. Well, signing Keuchel and Gio is a great backup plan. This is a very solid offseason so far. Lineup vs righties: Robert CF Moncada 3B Abreu 1B Grandal C Eloy LF Mazara RF Anderson SS Collins DH Madrigal 2B Rotation: Giolito Keuchel Lopez Gonzalez Cease
  7. You’re a treat. I thought it was pretty clear in my post that the guy was not reliable. Maybe I should have just said that he’s not reliable. Oh wait... Only reason I posted it was because of WSD’s random message last night.
  8. Another random tweet (from somebody NOT reliable) saying Keuchel to the Sox.
  9. My calculations (which could be wrong) have May 20 as the day for Kopech and April 10 as the day for Robert/Madrigal. I didn’t realize the Charlotte season started on April 9. Now, I didn’t expect the Sox to call up Robert on the very first day after securing the extra year, but it looks like he won’t get much time at all in Charlotte.
  10. I think part of it is also that it’s 9:30 PM on a Friday...and also, it hasn’t been that long since the tweet was posted.
  11. He’s been boozing all night and he said he literally gets these kind of messages dozens and dozens of times per month.
  12. Whoever the two best starting pitchers in baseball are at any given time.
  13. Thanks for the positive thread, Ray Ray. Good stuff.
  14. I gave you an example and you continued to say nobody is giving you an example. I agree with you that extensions like that are very unlikely, but I did give you an example.
  15. Paul Goldschmidt...just happened less than a year ago.
  16. First off, this isn’t happening. Second, if it was happening, I’d only be interested if it included a Lindor extension.
  17. Another pitcher off the market. What the hell is Hahn waiting for? Why aren’t we signing any of these guys? Oh wait, he signed with the Sox? Then what are we doing signing this washed up piece of garbage? Sorry, sometimes I get confused on how to fit in around here. (In all seriousness, I love the move. Now go sign Ryu or Keuchel.)
  18. I just turned to my coworker (who also reads the boards) and said, "Countdown to Moan4Yoan chiming in with something negative...3, 2, 1..." Then I hit refresh and sure enough! Thanks for giving us a good laugh, you miserable human being.
  19. You see him struggling overall? Or just lacking in the power department during his first year?
  20. If he is healthy all year, I think Eloy will hit at least 40 next year.
  21. Random question that popped into my head after reading your post... Who will have more home runs next year for the White Sox? Robert or Mazara?
  22. I preferred Coleburg, but I can see why some would want Strasman.
  23. As time goes on, I wonder if 4 years at a lower AAV would get it done...something like 4/$68M. I would guess the there are three year offers out there in the $55M/$60M range.
  24. From MLB Trade Rumors... https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2019/12/pitching-notes-ryu-keuchel-ray-king-felix.html
