  1. And the 8 and 9 hitters will be replaced with Robert and Madrigal next year. That’s a solid lineup, even without any additions. Throw in one or two free agents, and we have ourselves a legit offense.
  2. Players have a few days after the World Series ends to make a decision on opting out, right? Do they have secret conversations with teams before that to see whether it's worth it to opt out?
  3. In five years from now, when people ask who won the Chris Sale trade, the correct answer will be JD Martinez. He will have won a World Series in Boston with Sale and one in Chicago with Moncada/Kopech.
  4. McCann and Anderson will be on base for Robert to drive in. Our lineup will be so good, that they’ll be batting 8th and 9th.
  5. I appreciate the info. Some people will complain no matter what, even when they are not privy to what actually goes on behind the scenes. Thanks for posting this.
  6. How would people feel if the only four signings this offseason were Castellanos, Wheeler, Will Smith, and Nova?
  7. Sheets walked his first three time up, then popped out, then hit a three run BOMB.
  8. If Stone is a mouthpiece (which is debatable), how do we know he wasn’t told to say that to avoid the let down that Machado caused? But either way, I don’t think anybody is expecting Cole.
  9. Where will he start next year? And if things go well, what level is a realistic spot for him to finish at?
  10. What do you think the chances are that we sign at least one of the following players?... Cole, Rendon, Ozuna, Grandal, Bumgarner, Wheeler, JDM, Castellanos, Strasburg, Betances
  11. Craig Dedelow just made two outs in an inning...and they were the second and third outs of the inning. You don’t see that very often.
  12. If he was able to soak in some stuff from McCann and was also able to realize he needed to make some swing adjustments, I’d say it definitely put him in a position to succeed.
  13. Not when it’s such a small sample and you’ve been away from live pitching for an extended period of time.
  14. The only do-over I want is the millions of hours I spent on the message board from December through February. Good lord, that was unhealthy.
  15. Next year will be the first year they’ll be competing for a playoff spot, so things might be handled differently. And Vaughn is more advanced than other prospects.
  16. Good point. If Vaughn goes on a Robert like tear at AA early next year, he could be with the big league club in June or July. Of course, there are other variables at play like what kind of production we are getting at 1B/DH and how the Sox are doing overall.
  17. What's the difference between him and Madrigal/Robert? It seems like Vaughn is on a similar path as those two guys, just a year behind. Both of them started in A+ this year. Is it just because of how advanced they feel Vaughn's bat is? Or will Vaughn be getting more time in A+ this year than Madrigal got last year? I can't remember.
  18. How confident are you that Vaughn will start in AA next year? I would love that, personally.
  19. He’s played 13 games only at A+
  20. Even if this wasn’t his draft year, why would you be concerned? He’s played a whopping 13 games in A+ with an OPS of .842, and he has more walks than strike outs.
  21. Is wRC+ park adjusted in the minors? If not, that’s even more impressive.
  22. You meant to type Vaughn on your last stat line.
