My lizard brain version is I am ready to root for 2020 and I should not have to be thinking about 2021 right now. Just like it's not my problem to worry about who gets paid how much. We are in one of the worst divisions ever and it's time to compete. We are overdue for some luck and success. Luck results when preparation meets opportunity.
I understand it's a money calculus. The Rangers can do their budget maneuvers and our owner gets to pay his favorites. Nick would be a huge statement for a team that has a chance to climb out of AAAA status 2020 and compete. EE 37 fouls up the lineup variations discussed here and is an aging suitcase. I have a right to be disappointed and that is all I am expressing. Psyched for Nick and bummed for EE.
Abreu at 1B as a regular, Grandal full time catcher, McCann and Collins with limited PT. Nick is age 27 breakout candidate. This is a discount move to save money. Just my take.
When you pass out during Family Feud it's EZ to wake up early and I even chopped down an artificial tree. I am ready for Jerry to send us Big Nick for Festivus who I suspect is waiting on the Wrigley's and Kras Bryant. Just my own theory.
Modern beisbol. Kinda crazy to have two catchers who cannot catch in Omar and Zakariah. Makes you wonder what they teach in those commie schools these days. When I was a lad you slept with your glove on and it was uphill in deep snow both ways. Santa couldn't even make it thru that snow.
Sox gotta slap those big balls around and have Santa bring home Nick C for Xmas. Imagine the TV panning the Sox dugout and see those name veterans waiting to play. Nick would be in demand later if Jerry's kids can play. Twins have lost 14.3 WAR the Tribe is rebuilding and it's time to contend.
Sox received their participation trophy for team of the decade after amassing more wins than either the Padres and Marlins. With only 27 teams to overtake and the 4ALC left to be won by forfeit, the future looks bright.
Still looking at Nick C. If the Cubs catch a break with Bryant I think Nick will head back North. He would make a nice DH if there was room for him. Not sure about the DH mix but maybe Nick could handle 45 games in RF.
It's a new day and 100 games at catcher is plenty. First-half McCann is good enough to play as well. I am more concerned that we would count on Reylo and Cease for playoff contention followed by Kopech and Rodon which makes 2020 a coin flip.
Most likely 160 per year and not an easy goal. Brave trolls going off on Keuchel at rumor central because he had a fail in the playoffs. Wish we had enough native guys to step up instead of the 4A trash they are acquiring for the minors.
