  1. Several Sox players reaching the marks of excellence this season. We must build on this core and continue upgrading. I look for half of next year's squad to be new faces.
  2. Ricky was asked about the home plate call and said no. Then apparently everyone walked away.
  3. YESTERDAY GAME: SEATTLE — Major League Baseball has expressed “regret” over a miscommunication that resulted in a 2-1 loss for the Chicago White Sox against the Seattle Mariners on Saturday night. Seattle’s Omar Narvaez hit a ball off the top of the wall in the bottom of the 10th inning that was ruled a home run by umpires. The ball did not clear the fence, and had a replay review been conducted, Narvaez would have been awarded a double and the game would have continued tied at 1. “In last night’s game there was conversation between the umpires and the White Sox as to the procedure for potentially reviewing two different aspects of the game-ending play,” MLB said in a statement Sunday. “There was then a misinterpretation regarding Chicago’s desire to have any aspect of the play reviewed. We regret that this miscommunication resulted in not reviewing the home run call on the field.”
  4. Did anyone get Rick's story on the Narvaez HR.
  5. Did the umps put their headphones on. Did not see from the highlights what happened.
  6. SEATTLE -- A White Sox team pondering its rotation for 2020 and beyond received some clarity Saturday night after Dylan Cease’s encouraging start at T-Mobile Park, though their one-for-one trade last Nov. 30 was at the center of the outcome. Mariners catcher Omar Narvaez lifted a walk-off homer off White Sox reliever Alex Colomé (the player Narvaez was traded for in November) in the 10th inning on a play that ended in confusion. The ball off Narvaez’s bat appeared to bounce off the exterior of the fence and back into play, but officials ruled that it was a homer, and the White Sox opted not to challenge if the ball cleared the wall, or if Narvaez touched home plate as he was mobbed by Seattle teammates.
  7. The end of game alleged HR was not reviewed. The umps talked and walked off the field.
  8. I thought end of game close plays were automatically reviewed. No one was minding the store or the Sox bench. I do not understand.
  9. Collins and Narvaez in the same game. Catchers who can't catch.
  10. Rikki says we are ready to win next year. Full stop. I also expect Joe G and Dombrowski would not work with a budget-minded org.
  11. I could see 2x12 plus option. Wondering how JDM player option works with a trade and affects his value.
  12. Jose at times has no sense at all about low breaking balls. I wonder about his vision.
  13. If you look at the money they wasted Avi was worth keeping. Certainly.
  14. Wondering if you could build a lineup around Gleybar Soler Eloy and Lamaiheu. Just a thought.
  15. The Skole and Reed episodes this year have been perplexing. Nobody cares what they cannot do.
  16. It appears the Bosox will at a minimum be retooling on the fly and moving forward without JDM. Could leave some room on the stage for other teams who are ready to step up and compete. Boston will be hard-pressed to spend more with the largest payroll around. The money spent on Sale and Eovaldi is not looking like a good investment right now. Betts is not sticking around for a home team deal but will go on the market next year. Big spending does not always turn out well.
  17. So a top gm winner of last year's trophy and top pay-scale is going to be Kenny's special assistant. I get your drift but do not see that happening in Soxorg. Dave might be in gm emeritus mode at this point.
  18. Sounds like he was held liable for over-spending on injured veterans esp pitching. Tough business. There would be no spot for him here unless the decks were cleared. He would not be Kenny's special asst.
