Yeah... from 2006 through 2015 --- there's no excuse for us having only won the central one lone time (also our lone playoff appearance). I mean, there was some fun and the glimpses of promise provided excitement. I'll never forget in 2012 when we beat Detroit to distance ourselves in that rain make-up game in September -- I thought we had the Central locked up and that our pitching staff was good enough for us to make a run. Then, we went completely in the sh*tter. Just like we did in a lot of those post-05 seasons.

Even with Abreu having a tough last month or so. Removing him from the lineup just makes it that much tougher to look at. Maybe our strong bottom of the order with the 8-9 combo of Engel and Giolito will compensate for it, though. ?

Much, MUCH needed. Too bad we spoiled his effort

Yeah, I think Eloy will be that guy who comes up and succeeds rather quickly. Which is easy to say... but I did not feel that way about Moncada, nor do I think Kopech will do that. I expect Kopech's first season to be a bit of roller coaster ride. Eloy just seems to obliterate the ball wherever he goes and I think at least a version of that will translate.

I am not there yet. I am going to give him the second half. However, I am quite close to stepping my foot onto the "worried about Moncada" train. However, if he finishes 20/20 and gets that average back up to .245 or .250. With a solid OPS. Eh... all is right again.

I think it's been had and will be had enough times in other threads. This is a game thread. I also just think it's a weird thing to bring up tonight. As if this is the first time Sale has done this. Sale pitched great... yeah, he's great. What else is new? We have always known that, the White Sox have always known that... the entire MLB knows that. My dog knows that. -

Rodon's movement and command looks very good so far. His velo seems to be steady at around 93. Am I crazy... or is that down? -

Very, very true. Navarez jerking that glove all around was high school level pitch presentation. -

Lol... That was literally right down the middle. I hate when players do that to basically just get a fan reaction. -

Golly man... Abreu's swing is all kinds of off-balance and f'd up. -

That's a solid AB by Moncada, but I was really looking for him to hit one over the border of Mexico -

So far in this game -- Colon owes Andrus a Corona, a burrito and a high five. -

I think it was a combination of Yoan thinking that there was no chance in hell Andrus was coming home, a ridiculous play on a throw that I thought was going nowhere near Chirinos and the bat being in the way. -

How MANY times has that happened? Good LORD I'll bet a lot that we look back on that opportunity in the 6th or 7th when we still have a goose egg on the board. -
It's just not practical, when you boil it down. Look what happened with Ohtani. Guy hurts himself pitching and now you lose a bat in the middle of your lineup as well. The Angels have been on a downward spiral just about since. It's a good way to cripple a team. The Angels lost their cleanup hitter and ace of the staff (at least, it was shaping up that way) SIMULTANEOUSLY. It would probably work more often visa/versa as well. The grind of playing a position on 3 or so days in between starts every five -- You're still playing over 100 games as a positional player and then you tack on the starts. Yikes. Good way to wear down and regress at both pitching and hitting. Good way to take a guy who is great at one thing, "good" at another and just make him average all around (if not injured).

Yeah, Covey is still Covey. Huge false alarm there. lol. What a fluke
-
Covey got that good run on his FB early. Was missing that in the last two outings.

15-20 MPH winds blowing in. I thought Moncada's ball was gone to center anyway. If Abreu is hurt... that uh... sucks.

I would love, love for Yoan to be the hero.
