  1. I feel like there's no accurate way to track catcher defense. Omar is brutal at pitch framing (don't see how they account for that in fWAR) and catcher's get such generous rulings when it comes to passed balls vs wild pitches. Most of the time, they get any ruling where the ball goes into the dirt. Which just isn't how it should be. You should be accountable for blocking the baseball. Certainly not every time, but much more than they're held to it.
  2. Well... they had nearly identical PA's (295 vs 294) Navarez .277/.373/.340 (.713 OPS) 38 BB's 45 K's (2 HR 15 RBI) Smith .283/.309/.388 (.697 OPS) 9 BB's 46 K's (4 HR 30 RBI) I can understand where Navarez may have technically been better. However, (this is speculative ) I do believe Navarez had a pretty lucky BABIP situation going on. Maybe I am remembering that incorrectly.
  3. Davidson obliterated that. You hear that sweet sound it made? Like a movie. lol
  4. Smith back there instead of Navaraez makes this team instantly better.
  5. Doesn't even make eye contact with him or utter a word. Just cowers and ushers Moncada away. Brutal
  6. I can't find anything concrete. Rotoworld just says "10 day DL with Knee Strain" I do seem to remember hearing about late-June/Early-July as a timeline. Maybe him and Avi return close together.
  7. His arm also seemed to be very, very live. Just in general, tonight. He looked great
  8. Yeah, I understand. However, I'm fairly certain that all analytics would tell us that Palka should be out there, regardless. He's been creating a ton of runs. 7 HR's 20 RBI's in what? 100 AB's? I mean, you can't leave that on your bench in favor of a guy who probably couldn't succeed against HS pitching right now.
  9. Random and maybe covered earlier in the thread... but why does Palka sit in favor of Thompson vs a RHP today? Honestly, I don't know why Palka sits vs any kind of pitcher in favor of Thompson. He's 7 for 20 with 2 HR's vs LHP in the big leagues. Thompson came into today hitting .124 overall. Yet, he's been an every day MLB outfielder. How long do I have to endure that?
  10. Ah, dang. That appeared to be correct, though. Dozier seemed to pin that with the bare-hand immediately
  11. Very close call I'd like Engel to have the hit, though. He's been doing a good job
  12. Lol Finally, Renteria has that work for him
  13. Atta boy Timmy! Great AB after falling down 0-2
  14. Yeah, I saw only 2 BB's. Which is probably the biggest thing, so that's a plus. His lack of swings/misses continues to be head-scratching to me. Perhaps he's being told to forget about the K's and pitch to contact until he figures the control out? I don't know. At the end of the day, he needed a quality outing. So, this is a positive.
  15. Had to miss most of Game 2. How did Gio do? Seemingly, it went okay.
  16. I've posted in probably 40 game threads this year and never been upset at a single loss. I think I'm entitled to have ONE moment. Especially when I bet on the Sox today. So, nah. I'm here for this game and the next.
  17. LMAO Hilarious Completely and utterly comical
  18. F this Is there even a shadow of a doubt that Escobar gets a hit here?
  19. Game God... we can't do it for Lopez. Disgusting
  20. Anderson has gone back in the dumpster... His flashes of brilliance are always so promising. Such a roller coaster ride.
