  1. Lol Anderson with two errors on one play. Not to mention, the mental error of giving up and not immediately looking up at Candelario caught between 3rd and home. We might deserve to lose this game just because of that.
  2. It's in reference to the initial post I was replying to. Calling him a "generational talent". It's an okay/solid line for a 23 year old in A/AA... Certainly not an indication of anything fantastic to come. Which is all I am saying. He could be a helluva player... but there's nothing there that screams it at us.
  3. A .237/.389/.447 and a .839 career OPS in A and AA is "excellent"? And he's poor defensively, you say? Generational talent. We're just sold? K man. Not trying to be combative, but jeez.
  4. It really does bother me that Flowers went to ATL and became a solid hitting catcher.
  5. Not sure how anyone could be sold on Collins seeing how poorly he's performed at the plate in the minors. I'm not saying that I have given up on him. However, he's hardly a slam-dunk. I know he's turned things around after a putrid start this year. I guess we'll see.
  6. I don't know... but the revolving door of sub-par catchers we've seen cycled in-and-out of here in recent years is hard to keep enduring. I'd really like that position figured out here soon. A rather important one... If it means paying for Grandal - do it.
  7. Oh yeah, I forgot about that. Haha. I moved last summer. When I was filling out the profile for the site - it was labeled as "hometown". So, I filled in Chicago. I suppose I should switch that up, since it appears as "location".
  8. I live in the Detroit area. About a 10-15 minute drive, to be exact. lol The big drive would be going to the south side of Chicago to see this team.
  9. Bundy has been shaky. Gio has been okay as of late. That lineup is rough, though. I just want to see Gio put a good outing together, a multi-hit day from Moncada would be nice. I'll be at the game in Detroit tomorrow for Lopez, though
  10. Bizzaro White Sox Covey with 8 K's over 7 Innings allowing only 1 ER - Engel 3 for 3 with 2 RBI's and a SB. I must be asleep and dreaming...
  11. Engel has a bright future as a high school outfield coach.
  12. Yes, this is correct. It's "shock" journalism. No different than Stephen A. or Skip Bayless. These guys take an opinion they hold (sometimes that they don't even hold) - then stack up a disgusting amount of hyperbole on top to incite a reaction.
  13. Rosenbloom is an attention whoring hack. Nothing to see... His shtick is tired
  14. I watched probably 120 Tigers games last season, living just outside of Detroit. Presley is obviously nothing to be excited over. However, he is head/shoulders better than Engel/Thompson. As in, he actually has a place on a good chunk of the league's MLB rosters. I would welcome him with open arms as an every day player in CF over Engel. I just can't watch it anymore.
  15. True. I've just never had it in me to root against my team so early into a season, in any sport. I tend to worry about that stuff more when it's really getting down to it.
  16. Small BvP sample sizes can be misleading. However, Machado is obviously great and Shields is Shields... so... probably onto something.
  17. Yeah, you make a good point. I don't know... I don't think I put it past RR either, though. I would hope Yolmer has more faith in himself there. Plus, if Yolmer is going to attempt and execute a squeeze. It would make sense that Engel would have to be made aware, right? I don't know if Yolmer can just do that - hoping Engel realizes in-time to get a proper secondary lead and some momentum going to the plate.
  18. I don't even know if you call it "playing for a tie" It's just playing stupid. You have a pitcher who cannot get lefties out. A .280 contact, line drive hitting lefty at the plate with 1 out and 1st/3rd. With a 0-1 count... Jeopardizing putting him in an 0-2 hole for the sake of making contact, when every metric suggests he'll make contact anyway... that's unfathomable to me.
  19. I have always thought that this is the downfall of most failed managers. You see at the lower levels an obnoxious amount. High school and college is littered with Tony LaRussa wanna-be characters. Has no place in the big leagues.
  20. I think Major League baseball is ready to close the book on the Trayce Thompson era. Unfortunately, our outfield situation from AAA and up doesn't really fit into the "Major League Baseball" category.
  21. 2nd to last out was messed up. Last one was standard and should have been expected.
  22. Is there a statistic that demonstrates team failure to plate a run with a man on 3rd and less than two outs? We have to be running away from the rest of the league with that.
