Well, I mean, sure there is. Being coordinated enough to execute proper footwork consistently. Especially in a game setting where things are moving fast. That requires athletic ability. Eloy has been a professional baseball player for a number of years. All of this stuff you're talking about is elementary. Shit, it's stuff you do in high school. Much less the pros. If you're at the major league level and you still look THAT lost. It's hard to get optimistic about you figuring anything out suddenly. I mean, jeez... knowing where the wall is when you feel yourself get to the warning track? That's just spacial awareness. I don't know how you can be a big league outfielder and be that clueless when you feel the grass under your feet turn to clay. It's rather obvious.

There's more to it than simply not having Eloy. This team is totally out of sync. Everywhere. Even if you have Eloy - bad AB's all day by most everyone. -

Yeah, I'm in agreement. This is ridiculous. It's 20-fucking-20. I'm done watching Nicky Delmonico and Zack Collins hit 4th-5th. ENOUGH. That shit is supposed to be over. -

The team looks fundamentally out of sync in every aspect of the game. It's early but they have to figure some stuff out. Not hitting any panic button, but looking like this vs KC would be... alarming. -

Wait... why would we challenge that? lol. I get it's surprising that it came close... but... it's not. -

Get a guy on. Bang one out of the ball park. Come on. -
That's insensitive to folks trying to be real LF'ers. Watch your tone.

It's amazing how athletic and coordinated he looks in the box. In contrast to how big, dopey, and clumsy he looks chasing down balls in left field.

What? How is this related to a "tough guy" mentality? lol. It sounds like this is a personal thing for you. A deep seeded issue from your childhood that you have with a very particular type of person. Something you need to work out psychologically, perhaps? If anything, our entire culture is now based around catering to each individual's sensitivities. You can't publicly tell a joke anymore without checking about 27 boxes in your brain before firing it out. I mean, look at what happened in this thread over a simple word which means "slow in development" by definition. Give me a break. Good lord. What world do you live in? Good luck in your search of moral virtue. -

Why? lol If you couldn't tell that I was clearly being facetious in each of those individual replies. I question if you are 4 years old, sir. Perhaps you're socially challenged? When I said that Yoan Moncada was probably "dead in a gutter" based on how the day had gone. A part of your brain should have activated which signals to normal, socially functional people "Hey, this guy is messing around". Your brain failed to do that. Interesting. -

He probably has fucking polio. Fuck today. He has it again. I can tell. Yes, he does. The way today has gone. He's probably laying dead in a gutter. Okay, look... Eloy being hurt would be huge. I don't think we can spare any offensive output. Also, just the fact that I've waited so long to watch Eloy this year. Then, he has another incident with a wall. Is this that hard? I've watched high school players who understand the concept of a warning track and how to not go flying into a wall looking up at a baseball. It's seriously elementary and it pisses me off. -

If Moncada has COVID and Eloy has a concussion. Explain to me how we can POSSIBLY stick in this thing. Given how short the season is. Given that our rotation 3-5 is a joke? I'll wait. I will sit and wait. While I prepare to laugh. -

I don't think people realize how bad today was. Our season might be over. If Moncada has COVID and Eloy has a concussion? With this pitching? We're 3-9 when they comeback. Period. I'm sure I'll calm down. However, I genuinely have gone from excited to thinking this is another lost season. -

That is correct and what I am saying. I realize that Lopez was always coming back to compete. Making him the #3 starter is atrocious. I should have worded it better. -

This is what happens when you have a "gut" manager who "likes a kid" for whatever reason. Instead of one who can look without bias at what the analytics have been saying for years. What other team trying to be competitive brings back a guy in his 5th year to be your #3 starter coming off of a season where he posted a 5.82 ERA and a 1.457 WHIP? Sick of Ricky -

I distinctly remember getting into it briefly on Twitter with a DFS analytic guy over Lopez. Just reaching for ways to defend him, as they would repeatedly say to attack Lopez with your Draftkings/FanDuel lineups. Which is totally uncharacteristic of me - as I love analytics. Should have been a sign. Sometimes our minds are great at doing back-flips to reach a desired position, though. -

I was about to say. Advanced stat geeks have been saying he sucks since we were saying he was good in his first full season. -

Yup. 100% was saying this was going to be sheer disaster since I looked at the probables for this. Yeah, we only spotted the best hitting team in baseball 4 runs with one of the worst pitchers in baseball on the mound and have a bullpen that's been a collection of gas cans to this point. Totally in this thing. -

Being horrendous 1/3 of the time you step on the mount is unacceptable. So, no, we are not too hard on him. That is pitiful. This is actually an indictment against him. -

I think that's way too close. Glove beats his arm in getting down but it doesn't get on him instantaneously. There's a bit of a scramble. -

First series overreactions are just like Week 1 overreactions. This stuff happens mid-season and you would hardly blink. But since we're all so intently tuned in - this two game sample size should clearly mean more than these player's entire bodies of work. lol -

Moncada could easily be a strong MVP candidate. He's turning into a monster.
