Marsh would be perfect, LHH, good OBP, good defender. Problem is Angels GM needs the same thing we need, quality pitching so i don't see how a deal would work. And Eppler needs it now to save his job not prospects for the future. I dont see a good match here unless its a three team deal.

Sox can get a good amount of cash off the books next year clearing Cishek, Gonzalez and EE. I think declining the options cost only like around 1m each but in total will save like 20m. Use it all for Bauer.

The SLG is not good for a bat only slugger but yes i know he is rusty. I heard the level of competition was like recent college players or something like that? If there is an expanded AFL in the fall maybe he can participate in that.

Pederson is having an awful year, so he would prolly come cheap as he is already a platoon guy anyway. Springer is a RHH and is not exactly doing great either (and would command more money). I'd rather we put the money into Bauer and add Joc cheaply if they can't trade for a decent LH RF.

Jerry is going to ask the FO why would I sink another 40m into the catching position when last year you persuaded me to sink 73m into the catching position? Hahn is going to have to live with the choice he made. Theres no such thing as a "sunk cost"in a situation like this, especially to THIS ownership. Grandal is the guy. Period. The resources have been spent. He is going to be given every opportunity to prove the FO right. Given that the FO is going to ask Jerry for more pitching, they wouldn't exactly have a ton of capital/trust in JRs eyes if they are also asking for another 40m at catcher. I trust Hahn is savvy enough to realize that asking for 40m for mccann is not a great way to inspire ownerships confidence in your other requests.

So we paid 4/73 for just a DH when we have like 5 DHs already? I can assure you that wasn't the plan...if it was someone should be fired.
