Potential Crochet Trade discussion Thread
SoCalChiSox replied to Chicago White Sox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
It would be hard to say no to this even with Mayers injury issues. That would be two very good players hopefully you can keep Mayer healthy. Two big time lefty bats (Montgomery is technically switch but much better from left side). -

Yep. Yankees system sucks.

I know... I was being sarcastic and mocking JR. This ownership and FO could f*** up a wet dream....and with not even that much effort.

I read that it looks like it will be the Mets I hope Boston doesn't put all of its money into Fried. I'm hoping that NYY quickly pivots to Fried to calm the fanbase after their little brother just dick punched them. NYY will outbid BOS imo.

Bro....we tried.. we even put his name and number on the scoreboard in the stadium. Im sure if it would have helped we could have put some of his scrub buddies on the friends and family plan like we did with Alonso and Jay. Not sure what else that dude could have even wanted... /s

Mayer is very talented but his BABIP fueled performance last year and injuries are scary. Still....I bet we wouldn't say no to Mayer and Montgomery, unless PHI offered Miller and Crawford. -

Yeah if Soto goes to BOS they will have an OF glut for sure and Braden Montgomery will be a trade piece. -

We really need Fried and Burnes to sign. And not with Boston or Philly. -

Good. Now there's no excuse for failing to get at least 2 55 FV bats, at least one LH. No excuses. -

White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert
SoCalChiSox replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I dont see why rival teams find this position unreasonable. Yeah he had a bad year. We're not asking for 70m or whatever in SV anymore or even 40-50m it seems. But yeah you will prolly need to give us a single 55 FV player that prolly is worth 30m SV or a little more. We shouldn't give him away for free. -

If he isn't a star, we're dead. We're probably dead regardless. -
We were eliminated when it got to 6 million, much less 600 million.

Couldn't even make the playoffs with a Heisman caliber QB in Ward. Once again, while he's an excellent recruiter, Cristobal sucks as a GameDay coach. Guidry needs to be fired at once. We've played with fire all year...eventually you'll get burned. I was worried all week about this game because Syracuse has a great offense and our defense is trash. Looks like I was right to be worried. -

What would be ideal is if we did the Crochet deal to BOS for Montgomery (RF) and Campbell (2B) and moved Robert to PHI for Crawford (CF). -

And I'm pretty sure i know which of the two fanbases will be incredibly disappointed. Spoiler alert: It's not the one with "Red" in the team name. In all seriousness, if we got Braden Montgomery and Kristian Campbell as people have suggested, this would be pretty good. Montgomery would have gone far higher in the draft if it wasn't for his injury, and has a great arm for RF, is a switch hitter that has alot of power from the left side in particular so there's some real savagery there too. Campbell has played 2B, SS and I think CF so he could potentially fill multiple different spots depending on how those positions shake out after other moves so there's good flexibility there. I would support that deal if those are the two main pieces. I'd love Anthony from BOS but they aren't gonna deal him obviously. -

Good. And hopefully the middle of the order reference means Getz has finall_ figured out that Limp Dick Ball isn't a legitimate offensive strategy and at least some actual savages (besides Montgomery) are required. -
White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert
SoCalChiSox replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Unfortunately, there are several scenarios outside of serious injury where Jerry isn't retaining him for 20m. The most probable scenario triggering the failure to retain him is the one where Jerry has to....you know....actually cut the check to Robert. -

I'd be shocked if we got both Miller and Crawford out of them. That would be awesome. I think Law said Miller should stick at SS. Unfortunately, the odds of Getz negotiating that kind of return out of Dombrowski is zero. -

Nah....if he actually does a good job at being a GM rather than bring a mindless bootlicker he could have a future in baseball post Jerry. Evidently he doesn't care about that, though.
