Ugh please tell me it's not just a pure salary dump? I thought JR OK'd 10D signing without a corresponding salary dump, wtf? If they need salary relief send off Kelly or someone not as valuable. LH should fetch a real return that meaningfully addresses needs. This organization is such garbage.

McNeil and McCann for LH makes sense. NYM need to throw in a little bit of cash for JM 2024 salary.

It seems they might be able to do better than that just for Kelly at this point.

It's true he has no power but unlike NM he has very good defense and gets OBP a ton vs RHP. He had 118 WRC+ vs RHP last year even without power. He could be the LH platoon 2B vs RHP and against LHP we could play Romy/Sosa. He's worth about 5m in surplus value so we can probably get him for ReyLo and just keep LH if no one is making a blowout offer.

Colas is the savage middle of the order LH bat. It might take a few months to adjust but he should be the 4 or 5 hitter relatively soon. I dont think anyone they get in a trade at 2B is gonna be a 3,4,5 hitter. Neither McNeil nor Guillorme fits that profile.

If 10D can hit about 17 HRs (very possible at GRF) with OBP of .350+ and above avg D that will be enough for me.

Id rather have Guillorme for ReyLo straight up if NYM would go for that than signing Segura. The value is about equal.

Yeah you stick him in AAA to start and see if he lights a fire under YM to really perform. If he does, having two savage 3B is a good problem to have and you can use one as a trade chip. If not, move YM to 2nd and if he doesn't like it, that's too damn bad.

Yeah if there is alot of interest then they should do much better with the NYM than just a salary swap with McCann and EE. There should be a significant return. I doubt it's Baty tho.
