So much for "he only hits well when he plays in the OF"
-
MOAR winning please K thx
-
Good. I want it to be miserable there. This stupid organization can't even avoid stepping on their own dicks in whatever short window we have and they totally wasted two prime years by giving this geriatric clown all the power. I'm glad they are suffering.
-
Why would we add legit left handed savagery when we hate winning? We are an organization that loves excuse making, squandering resources on crap rather than making a concerted effort to substantially address major needs, living in the past, using media assets to deflect from real issues, and are perfectly happy to put our head in the sand when it comes to facing long standing problems. All of these things are anathema to savagery and are thus not conducive to winning. If you don't want to add a savage you don't want to win. It's that simple.

This is 100% spot on.
-
At this rate #9 overall is going to be too low for Colas the left handed savage.
-
His power tool is definitely higher than 60. 9 HRs in 22 games in AA is an insane amount of savagery.

And that bomb was against a lefties too. Is Corey Seager actually this young savage's floor? ?

Baseball America: Colson Montgomery #38 on Top 100 Update

45 fielding is still a significant improvement over having 1Bs in the outfield and a plus arm is very valuable in RF. If dude is handling CF in the minors I think he should be at least a 50 in RF. IMO, power is more like 65 than 60. And they're underrating the hit at 50. Dude is wiping his dick across the faces of AA pitching and is now walking more and seems to be chasing less. But they think he's like a 255 hitter in MLB? Thats a littlr light. This guy should be a 275/340/520 guy. Hit is 55. If this dude keeps hitting a bomb like every other day he should be a top 50 prospect savage by the end of the year. -
Because we aren't going anywhere so why burn a year of service time for nothing.
-
No. 38 ranked league wide prospect is entirely too low for this young savage.
-
Dude is a 4 WAR 3B who is one of our better hitters against RHP when healthy. Those don't exactly grow on trees. If he is hitting better against LHP I agree this suggests oblique is still an issue. He's very valuable to this team. I think and hope he will be back to normal next year (ie at least Hugh OBP and good D). If he's still struggling by mid 2023 Montgomery will be waiting in the wings.

He'll be a top 20 savage soon enough. -
Nice! He should be promoted to AA before the end of the season.

I think its becoming increasingly clear that fangraphs having his game power FV at 55 is too low. This guy is at least 60 and maybe 65 in game power after he made that adjustment and his wrist healed. 6 HR in 14 games in AA is crazy. There's like 38 more AA games this year, if he plays in 30 of them, while I don't expect 15 more HRs, but he could definitely hit 10 more, that would be 16 HRs in about 44 games which is very impressive and 23 on the year as a whole when he missed time and had wrist issues is a very good year. Dude has mega power and is a RHP killer savage. He is the RF in Chicago next year. You move Vaughn for Chisholm and put Jimenez at DH full time and maybe add Conforto on the cheap in LF on a prove it deal, you've got a lineup suddenly full of left handed savages.
-
That's what savages do.
-
Link so we can listen?
-
You're right. Cleveland can still win this division.
-
I would be ok with them getting Rodon if a) it cost alot and b) his shoulder imploded shortly after the transaction.
-
RH DH....because we have a huge dearth of those in the lineup right?
-
Tony doesn't have "influence".....he is in total control. It's no surprise Hahn was talking about LHHs and SPs and we ended up going with Tony's relievers. He has all the juice and we maxed out on his priorities. Now JR might be seeing he bet on the wrong horse but at this point we're close to maxed out I bet and they can all see that it's not going to make a difference anyway even if they get to (early) October so what's the point?
