  1. I'd be very surprised if they don't get at least the Kimbrel thing done. That seems to be a super high priority.
  2. Isn't Schwarber's projection around 4/70? I don't see a DH/LF getting much more than that. Conforto can actually play a position competently. If this talk about Conforto getting more than Marte is true, I fully expect the Sox to pivot and even Harold/fathom/Jimmy are all kind of dropping hints this AM that Conforto is gonna be too rich for us. If we need to pivot, then pivot already but we need a legit RHP killing savage. Sign Schwarber and figure out where to fit him in later. I have had enough of pretending switch hitters who are barely above average against RHP (Grandal) is meaningfully addressing the problem. It's not. Don't put lipstick on a pig and call it a supermodel. Address the damn need already. IDGAF what it costs. We need multiple left handed savages, so if Conforto is out, we will need Schwarber PLUS something else. I am sick and tired of being exposed against any halfway decent righty.
  3. 5/100 is prolly too much for us. I don't see us going that high, which means they will need to pivot to Schwarber fast and then make a decision on Vaughn.
  4. If Conforto is out, Schwarber is an absolute must and no, I dont care about the lineup problem with multiple DH types. We actually need both...badly.
  5. Good post, hopefully we can the Conforto deal done now, especially if we can get Philly to take back Keuchel too.
  6. If that's the case, they should have gotten Conforto done already.
  7. JR was never gonna do a 300+ million dollar deal.
  8. Multiple LHH savages needed, not just Conforto. If they thought one token LHH savage would appease the fanbase, they thought wrong.
  9. I'd rather give him away for free than the garbage that's rumored to be the return from PHI. Just take the salary relief or get a third team involved who has assets which are actually a good fit for us. Chicago assuming Segura's salary is going to prevent us from adding 2 left handed savages and I'm going to hold it against him from the very start.
  10. If PHI really wants Kimbrel we need to get a third team involved in the trade so that Chicago can actually get something useful as a return.
  11. I was referring to Segura as the undesireable piece considering his handedness/results vs RHP and salary obligation. Kimbrel is the other undesireable piece.
  12. Segura and Marchan don't seem like "nuts" to me. Two undesireable pieces with onerous salaries being exchanged and they're throwing in a little something else....big deal.
  13. Yeah I'm bummed. I'd rather have two stud LHB than Segura at 2nd.
  14. We can afford both guys...they just need to unload Kimbrel and Keuchel without taking a ton of salary in return. I wouldn't mind giving Kimbrel to PHI for free so long as they took Keuchel too.
  15. Yes but he will be hidden at DH half the time. This is what could work: A. Trade Kimbrel for prospects only to save money. B. Take said prospects and maybe add a few others, ship to LAD for Lux. C. Sign Conforto (RF) AND Schwarber (LF/DH rotation with Eloy). D. Trade Vaughn for top flight pitching (I don't want to lose him but it seems JR and TLR are pushing all the chips in into the middle for the next few years. E. PROFIT.
  16. Wasn't Harold suggesting there is legit White Sox interest in Schwarber? If they deal Vaughn for top flight pitching, then they could rotate Eloy and Schwarber at LF/DH and still add Conforto in RF. Ofcourse, the money probably only works if Kimbrel is traded for someone who isn't a large salary commitment. Honestly, I'd rather just get some prospects from Philly, take back no salary and use that extra money to fill holes. Priority 1, 2 AND 3 are LHH savages.
  17. Which means since we have a "budget" we shouldn't blow all the financial savings from unloading Kimbrel on someone who is avg vs RHP. If that's the case, just get Kemp or whatever and use your ammo to secure Conforto.
  18. But we do need to have legit righty killers at at least some positions.
  19. So a high priced salary for another RHH who is nothing special against righties? Great job, Rick. And then they will use Segura's salary as an excuse for why they couldn't sign Conforto. If Philly really wants to make a trade the bring in a third team so we can get something that we actually need.
  20. Lux would be nice for 2B. Wonder what it would take? I thought I read they dont want to deal him tho.
