Luis Robert grade 3 strain/torn Hip Flexor, est. out 12-16 weeks
SoCalChiSox replied to Balta1701's topic in Pale Hose Talk
There's basically no reason for me to watch games or emotionally invest at all. I mean it's one thing to say 2021 is gone. It's another to say "oh and BTW we can't guarantee he will be the same even though you waited 4 months for him to return" So why am I watching then? Why did we put up with the rebuild for? Where's the payoff? What am I supposed looking forward to? I can take the loss of the season. I can't take the long term issue. -

That's so stupid. Just let it go. Bring up Rutherford and Gonzalez. Yes they will br massively overmatched and no I don't care. Do not sacrifice anymore assets. It's over. Accept it and move on to 22. -

What about long term issues? -

Why would he? Don't compound the issue by sacrificing more pieces for nothing. The only move to make is deal Lynn and Rodon. -

Is there any long term issue with the grade 3 or should he be 100 percent after? -

Agreed that they should cash in. They aren't winning anything with Robert out several months. Even in this AL Central. Get a good almost MLB ready LHH masher OF if possible for next year if you can. -

He isn't gonna walk away. He's a proud man and a "Hall of Fame Baseball Person" who believes his way is the right way, who has the owners support and more importantly presumably has a multi year contract. He isnt gonna walk away from that money AND lose face at the same time. There is no pressure on him....at least not from anyone who has real power. RH and KWs opinions plus 75 cents are enough to get a mediocre cup of coffee. They no longer have any juice. He isn't going anywhere come he'll or high water. -

Someone asked in the comments if he was referring to the injury or TLR and he said "everything" -

NotCishek just put out something which is....not good. -
He has a long way to go to be a starter. Command isn't there and needs to throw his slider and change more because his fastball hasn't been as effective this year.
-
Hopefully he can go for about 4 innings.
-
Lol. I remember that. Trevor Pryce punched him in the face. Allegedly.

Poppysox boy with a clutch hit after Hendriks blows another save.

OP is almost certainly a poppysox duplicate account.

Yep, I thought they said we finally agreed to put Kelley in and then MIL at the last second tried to insist on Vaughn or Kopech and then we said no.
-
I'd bat Mercedes 4th, as regardless of platoon issues, he's clearly our best power guy right now, even against righties. Moncada should be back at 2 I agree. Grandal 5. Robert 6. Eaton 7. Vaughn 8 and Madrigal 9.

That might be worse than any lineup RR put together. Just indefensible -

I think they may do that if he is still struggling when the minor league season starts because he wouldn't get a ton of benefit at the alternate site. He needs to get at bats in AA or AAA against higher quality pitching than he did at High A. Its a tough adjustment for any rookie but if you missed a whole minor league season and only played against High A earlier, its really unfair to expect him to seamlessly adjust to major league pitching. Thats very unfair to ask IMO. Its a testament to him that he was able to still put up good OBP in the majors. -
Colome was performing well above his expected numbers so he was a candidate for regression and it looks like that's exactly what is happening as he is struggling so far. However, we've blown several games now and Hendriks isn't carrying his weight. Its unclear to me why a team that has a limited budget would blow most of its wad on a closer when there's a good amount of variance year to year in relievers so I'm trying to understand the why behind it.....i mean besides the fact that we have an old school manager that hijacked the power structure from the FO , thinks its 1990 and insisted on his Dennis Eckersley, even though this team struggles hitting any halfway decent RHP and we just so happen to play RHP a little more than 70 percent of the time.
