  1. I don't really give credit to Hahn for the Sale, Eaton, and Q trades. Any GM can trade players like that and get great prospects back. We are doing okay this season but we could have been much better if Hahn spent money more wisely and kept Avi.

Unfortunately I'm not sure if he can raise his value enough before the deadline. If he does, then hell yeah, trade him

I can't wait get another prospect from one of these "flip" trades that will go into the system and no one will ever hear about again.

HUH???  Kimbrel saved 2 of the 3 wins against Yamkees in ALDS. He closed 3 of their 4 wins in ALCS  against Houston and pitched in 4 of 5 wins against Dodgers. Only gave in WS he didn't close was the one Chris Sale did.

Kimbrel had a very mediocre  late August and September last year.  But he was heavily used in postseason and had 6 saves in the 3 series.

Did you watch those games? He came close to blowing many of those saves.

  4. I've been championing Leury the past few seasons when he was being benched for Engel. Everyone hated Engel starting CF but most fans where under the impression that Engel was our only option despite Leury sitting on the bench. It was really not fair the way the team screwed Leury the past few seasons for Engel considering how much better he was when he played. Leury won the starter role in 2017 and was doing good then got injured. They brought Engel up, his bat was atrocious but he made some good catches so when Leury came back they stuck with Engel in center.

2018 starts and Engel gets the starter role despite putting up a -.8 WAR in 97 games the previous season compared to Leury's 1.2 WAR in 87 games (going by baseball-reference). It annoyed me how very few fans realized how ridiculous it was for Engel to be starting when Leury was available. This year has been his first chance to start again since the first half of 2017.

So, I'm not sure someone can seriously ask the question OP asked and legitimately be a White Sox fan.

Robin was worse, which is heartbreaking because he was one of my favorite players when I was a kid.  I'm sure some of our more senior guys can list a bunch more, too.

Robin was never as bad as Ricky. He was just a scapegoat for bad White Sox teams. My issue with Ricky isn't that the White Sox are losing.

Are you unhappy with McCann or Colome ? Or did u just bump an entire thread for a particular reason ? Don't get me wrong I like threads getting bumped because it makes me look pretty smart.  Hahn if you are out there you can consult with me and I'll keep it a secret. just give me a salary and I'll sign a clause to keep my mouth shut forever. I expect you to do your due diligence on my 10 year history of posts that should back me up.

I liked Narvaez and wanted him to stay. I would prefer Omar through 2023 than 2 years of Colome.

  7. I continue to be baffled by how quickly White Sox fans have soured on Eloy because isn't hitting like Manny Rameriez after a month into his career. I was someone who was worried about Moncada but that was after he struggled and looked awful for months. People making conclusion about Eloy right now so early in his career is ridiculous. Mark my words you will all look foolish within a year.

  8. Eloy should be with the White Sox. I don't understand the point of rehab assignments unless a guy was out for a very long time. Who cares if it takes a few games to find his groove. It really would make no difference if he joined the MLB team after coming off the DL instead of having to play a week in AAA.

Very few of the pitchers he's tagged have stayed healthy.

He took down all of his free stuff from his old site.

He had Strasburg tagged before he was even drafted.

He had Kopech tagged when the Sox traded for him.

If you go down his Twitter feed you'll see how many guys he got right. It's insane.

    Also Rodon.

You can say it to whoever you want, I don't care.   I'm not here telling everyone the front office made a bad decision by not retaining Avi due to multiple circumstances, among them being less than stellar production and injury history.  He was a let down, he had one good season and a bunch of ok to bad seasons.

I would understand this "he had one good season" logic if his good season was many years ago but it wasn't. It was 2017 and he struggled with injuries in 2018 yet showed a lot more power. I posted on another White Sox forum when the Sox got rid of him that I expected him to put together the high average of 2017 and power of 2018 for his 2019 season if he stays healthy. Him having a great season is not surprising at all to me.

For the record, bunting CAN increase your likelihood of winning late in a game more than not bunting.

Bunting early in the game and bunting when you need more than one run is unacceptable though. That said, bunting does have the ability to increase your likelihood of scoring ONE run which, if that is all you need, means bunting does have a place

Did you read the article? Because it contradicts what you just wrote.

Maybe I am missing something . I agree with the premise on bunting but where did you get the info on  bolded section. Looking at AL stats only, the White Sox are tied for 6th and finished 5th last year. Now maybe we try and fail more but I doubt it. I know Francona is a big believer in bunting and Cleveland  usually leads the AL.

Where can I find these stats? Are these sacrifice bunts to move runners along or guys bunting for hits? There is a difference. Sac bunts occur late in close games with guys on base. Even if the bunter is thrown out it is considered a success. Bunting for hits happens at anytime in a game and often when no one is on base. I don't have a problem with fast guys occasionally laying down a bunt to get on base. I don't like rally killing bunts in close late inning games.

Be predictable and always follow the best odds. We really do not need managers anymore, just plug the scenario into the computer and follow the odds. Why do managers overly complicate this? They start looking at the match up. They start thinking about how the players have performed recently. How they do in this stadium, etc. Are they hurting. Is the wind blowing and what direction. Pure stupidity. Millions of data points have already made the decision.

The problem is that Ricky does this every close game. I wouldn't have an issue if it was only an occasional occurrence. He is the one being predicable and going against the odds every game. That needs to be stopped.

Bunting never increases the odds of scoring, only lessens them. It can only be rationalize with a truly awful hitter at the plate like a pitcher. Have you noticed we almost never see other teams sac bunting when playing them. The rest of baseball is now aware of this and have stopped. Yet we have a manager who will bunt every time we get runners on in a late inning close game.
