  1. THE BESSS* I notice some people saying Da Bess and would like to put an end to that and make it officially "the Bess" as that sounds better and is what Eloy actually said in the video the nick name comes from.
  2. He played a lot in 2017 and did good. He was a starter for about half or more of the season but then he got injured and was replaced by Engel. Engel made some flashy catches and despite his atrocious hitting they stuck with him even after Leury came back. Leury deserved the chance to start 2018 but they went with Engel again even when Leury was healthy.
  3. He has looked really bad* this season. Edit- Didn't realize some already made this correction.
  4. If the White Sox keeping putting Giolito out there he will eventually have a few starts where he looks good and like he found it. Hopefully this next time people will remember that it doesn't mean anything and he always goes right back to garage within a few starts. We've seen it happen numerous times so far his White Sox career.
  5. Robert has 5 home runs, 14 RBIs, batting almost .500, and and OPS over 1.500 in 7 games. That is more than just having "a good game".
  6. How long are they going to delay promoting Robert? Is this another one they going to delay moving up levels so he won't force the issue of bring him up this year like Eloy did last year.
  7. Why do people want Omar? From what I've heard he is another old school type who will be out of touch with todays game. Apparently he is even more fond of bunting than Ricky.
  8. lol Renteria actually tried to put Lopez out there for another inning.
  9. Pitching for contact nonsense is mainly for the starters. Coop doesn't have issues with hard throwing strikeout relievers, sadly we don't have any of them anyway. I remember a stat in a fangraphs article a year or 2 ago and it showed the top 10 starters with biggest difference in their max velocity and average fastball velocity. Not surprisingly there was Sale, Rodon, and Lopez in the top 10.
  10. I'm not sure even White Sox fans understand the value of OBP considering most thought Palka with his below .300 OBP was good last year. I am actually glad he is struggling bad this year because that means we can cut ties with him sooner. Palka sucking means White Sox fans can give up the delusion belief that he was going to be a valuable member of a competitive team which was never going to happen even if he repeated what he did last season.
  11. He was throwing harder then ever last summer, he was unhittable but may have broke his arm
  12. If the team is not looking good in a year or 2 what makes you and others think the team will be "rebuilt" in 4-5 years. If this team is not looking a lot better next year and looking good in 2 years then the rebuild has failed and there is no reason to think it will start to come together in 4 or 5 years.
  13. Don't tell Coop that. Look forward to seeing pitching for contact Dylan Cease.
  14. Moncada didn't have elite patience. His issue was that he was too patient. He would stare at tons of pitches whether they were strikes or balls.
  15. Ricky will randomly use 3 pitchers to get 3 outs in an inning but will leave Fulmer in to get out of a jam in the 8th when he's thrown almost 50 pitches.
  16. He was not hitting 96-98MPH last season. It was rare to see him hit anything 94 or above just like this season. At least the K's are back this season though.
  17. I remember when Rodon used to hit upper 90's, even some times 99-100mph. His numbers weren't bad last year so there was little talk about the disappearing velocity and K rate.
  18. So you are saying Hahn traded away Omar so we can potentially trade Colome for some more junk prospects that go into our system and no one ever hears about them again? Hahn may be worse than I thought if that were true.
  19. All the hitters are looking like fools facing Snell and you choose to single out Jimenez, the rookie facing last years Cy Young winner.
  20. If the team is still tanking 2-3 years from now then the rebuild failed and the tanking will continue on for years to come.
  21. Actually there was an attempt to make the team better and start winning this year. Considering how bad the team will likely be this season Hahn would probably prefer to deny that and claim losing is still part of the plan. Trading Omar for 2 years of Colome is a win now trade.
  22. Palka and his below .300 OBP last year was always overhyped. He was never going to become valuable to a competitive team. The sooner the Sox part with him the better. It is a waste of time keeping him in the White Sox lineup.
  23. Put Robert in AA then get him to the majors. Every year the White Sox are losing more and more fans, they need to get this rebuild rolling soon. Look what the Padres did with Tatis Jr, 20 years old and already up. They didn't even bother with AAA.
