I'm with you. I wish more White Sox would champion the cause.

My issues with Ricky never had anything to do with the White Sox losing record. The White Sox winning would also do nothing to prove Ricky is a good manager. Bad managers can't make good teams bad, and good managers can't make bad teams good.

You are acting as if projections are facts. When it comes to a player who has established himself and what he can do then I can understand giving some emphasis to projections but when it comes to a young guy, especially a starter, projections don't mean anything. What was Giolito's projections after 2018? Cease is our best arm and he is only going to keep getting better.

Nonsense, Yermin would do better than all of them.

I looked up his minor league numbers and he wasn't even good in any of the higher levels. I am not sure he even deserved to make it to the majors let alone get so many chances.

Slugging White Sox could be ready to eclipse Cubs

I wasn't sure if it was Gleyber or Gleybar but since another user in this thread spelled it "Gleybar" I figured that was the correct way. I won't take spelling lessons from soxtalk users anymore. -

I never understand why most people defend the Chapman trade. Why do people assume the Cubs couldn't win the WS without him when they were already the best team in baseball before they got him. Even more stupid is the fact that he blew 3 saves during the playoffs yet people think he was essential just because he pitched some scoreless innings. Chapmans performance could have easily been replicated by other bullpen arms they had. Chapman rental was not worth trading away the career of someone like Gleybar Torres. -
How much longer do you wait on EE and Mazara?

Would have had at minimum 8 homers by now if he was playing. -

EE is 37 and not going to hit 30 home runs forever. -

I can tolerate Mazara but I wanted to see Yermin as DH this year and still do. Imagine this line up with a productive DH. They will be unstoppable. -
Yermin would lead the team in homers if we was up at the start.

Have you even been paying attention the past week?

What the hell does Madrigal have to do with anything?
-
After today this deserves a bump. The more time goes on the worse it looks.
-
If he isn't drawing walks then he needs to hit around .330 to have an OBP worthy of lead off.

It doesn't matter what we were promised because he hasn't even played a full season of games yet.

8.15.20 GT | Cards @ Sox game 2 | 3:15PM

What makes you think Eloy doesn't have the potential to be an elite hitter? So far he has had about a year of major league experience. He raked the final month last year, started hot this season, went into a brief slump but then started hitting the ball hard again in Detroit, had a bad game against the Cardinals and now we are giving up on his potential? -

Eloy has always projected to be a high average hitter and he did so in the minors. -
Sox vs St Louis Covids Game 1 8/15 thread, noon start

You people are delusional. He has already shown that his hit tool is there. A bad game or stretch of games is not a representation of his future. -
Well the Padres obviously saw something because they wanted him as their lottery ticket.
-
Your first point is irrelevant. It is not about whether or not it was the worst trade when it happened in 2016. It is about looking at it now in hindsight and seeing we traded what could be the best player in baseball for James Shields.
-
The question is would he be this good if the White Sox kept him, especially this early in his career?
-
What makes their's "bad luck" but Eloys "legit awfulness". Having the ball hit your glove or head and bounce over the wall is not bad luck, it is a misplayed ball that results in an error. There are endless examples of plays like Eloy's where a ball is misread or drifts and drops. The only reason Eloys may be considered worse is because it resulted in an inside the park home run.

Why don't they switch him then?
