  1. Luis has cooled off but he ultimately should be the lead off in the future. If he moves him out temporarily while he struggles that is fine. Tim can bat 2nd or 6th when Luis leads off. Eloy should also be moved to bat ahead of Grandal. It could be 1. Robert 2. Anderson 3. Moncada 4. Abreu 5 Jimenez. I would prefer Eloy batting 4th but I don't think Rick would move Abreu to 5th.

Might as well add EE to the headline.

Left game for Collins due to an injured right shoulder.

Vaughn or stay with Collins?  DH Mazara and start Engel in RF?

Are you purposely trying to offend us Yermin fanboys because ignoring him as the obvious replacement. I think those who deny Yermin's potential are afraid to see him get his shot because they will look stupid when he rakes.

Robert's hit tool is literally his biggest question mark, and he's never walked much. He won't be OBPing 340 without hitting .300+ and it is definitely not clear he can do that yet.

Personally, I do think he will hit .300 someday, but not until next year or the year after.

I'm not saying you need Madrigal at leadoff. Tim has power. Yoan and Yasmani have power. I'm fine with any of them at 1. Robert doesn't just have power, he's on another level, it is a waste to see him do it with no one on base.

    Speak of the panther haha

You are saying Luis Robert shouldn't bat 1st because of lack of walks but then advocate for Anderson at the top who has to bat at least .330 in order to have a respectable OBP.

I know I'm in the minority here but I hate Robert in the leadoff spot long term. Dude is gonna hit 40 homers a year, such a waste at #1, put him 2-4. Moncada, Robert, Eloy. Also, I don't care about speed at the leadoff because I don't want them risking SBs anyway with that murderers row coming up next.

That said, totally fine with Robert leadoff today, because there isn't really even another option with Yasmani scuffling.

Robert is an ideal lead off man because speed and hit tool. You and many others don't realize the game has changed. His power does not mean he is not right for lead off. Many teams have been putting high average/obp guys with power at the top.

I thought this was funny given the small but vocal group here who thinks that Abreu holds a gun to Renteria's head and forces him to pencil him in at #3 and 1B every game

Robert needs to be at the top. This yer Abreu does need to get moved down though. We have way to many stud hitters for him to keep batting 3rd.

McCann worked with Giolito like hand and glove last year.  So maybe stay with what worked.

The line-up is debatable . I would prefer Robert and Eloy up there. Why? The top three guys have speed on the bases and Eloy seems like a bigger threat  for pitchers than Abreu at this point.

    1. Tim Anderson

    2. Yoan Moncada

    3. Luis Robert

    4. Eloy Jiminez

Every loss seems like 2 losses with this shortened schedule....especially against a division rival.

Today and Sunday are must wins.

It should be either 1. Robert 2. Moncada 3. Eloy  4. Abreu, or 1. Robert 2. Anderson 3 Moncada 4. Eloy

I think the main point is that spring stats are darn close to meaningless either way.

The hype about Yermin is not just based on spring training numbers. It is about what he was doing last season and now during spring training.
