Eloy is a number 3 hitter, Abreu should be 4 or 5.

If we're picking between Ozuna and Castellanos and are going to have poor D in RF, I prefer Castellanos.
Castellanos career offensive numbers are barely better but Ozunas defensive numbers are much better than Castellanos.

BaseballReference has Ozuna's career defensive WAR at 1.1, Castellanos is at -10.2.

Ozuna hit 241 last year at stlouis with over 110 ks.i know 29 hrs but we need a lefty bat and hes right.idk why they do that if it's TRUE.makes no sense
110K's isn't that much in todays game. Moncada had over 150K's last year and he was great.

Someone explain why fans are not excited about this. If defense is an issue then why do so many want Castellanos? I looked up Ozunas numbers and he looks better than almost all the other names people have been suggesting. Nick Castellanos career WAR according to BaseballReference is 7.1. Ozuna hit 37 homers and an OPS above .900 just a few years ago. He is only 28.

No reason they can't offer him a short term multi year deal. He can be DH.

Gerrit Cole was not a star when the Astros traded for him, he was a good pitcher but had an ERA over 4 at the time of being traded. Their amazing pitching coaches and analytics department turned him into an ace just like they rejuvenated Verlanders career. The White Sox should learn from them but that would require a very modern approach and dumping Cooper.

Please, no. I don't care if White Sox fans love him he is a bad announcer. They don't need to pick someone White Sox fans know for color announcer. No one knew who Jason was before he joined the booth.

That lineup might score a few runs.
Except Ricky is too stupid to have a line up with Robert, Moncada, and Jimenez consistently batting 1- 2- 3.

Frank and Ozzie were complaining about all the lineup changes in the previous post game show. I don't remember the exact numbers but I saw a stat showing the Sox only had the same line up a few times all season.

No way. The 80s logos are dated. It was cute for a while, but the current look is a modern classic.
The 05 team wore the modern look. It should stay.
On reddit I often see the 80's logo get complimented by other teams fans when we play them.

I'm beyond done with the 83 unis so if this replaces them it'd be a welcome change.
Too bad there is not a downvote option on this site. Those uniforms are the best and they should make alternate black ones for road games.

He doesn't though.

Surprised no Ruiz. A little surprised to see Palka back. Not at all surprised to see no Mercedes.
Why are you not surprised? The only reason to not be surprised is because the front office is so stupid that we shouldn't be surprised they would call up Palka again instead of Yermin.

There was no chance Nick or Louis were coming up nor should there have been.
Well they should have been but it should have been a done a month or more ago.

Thing is you don't need to be much of a numbers guy to not bat the worst hitters clean up.

This is a great point. Does he develop the same way with the Sox if he wasn’t traded?
One thing is for sure, even if he was good enough he wouldn't be in the majors this year with the Sox.

WSD was super hyperbolic, but I do think there's some truth to the idea that they wouldn't put this together if they were planning on running a AAAA team out there.
This wasn't the White Sox idea. They are included because they were the team in the movie.

Ideally Leury would get more bench time but he has held up this season.
According to baseball reference Leury is 3rd on the team in WAR with 2.4 behind Moncada and McCann.

Lopez seems to be throwing harder. Fastball has been consistently 97+.
Edit- Well he was the first 2 innings.

Ok, counterargument: Why do you want to waste a season of Moncada and Giolito's prime, by waiting for Robert and Madrigal to make adjustments? Why not get those growing pains out of the way before they matter? The Sox are past the time in the rebuild to worry about service time considerations. The goal now is to get as many good players performing at a high level on the team simultaneously.
This is a completely different scenario from last year with Eloy. In 2018, the Sox didn't have an established core group of players. In 2019 they do. Huge, massive, gigantic difference. If the Sox keep playing service time games they're going to inadvertently shorten their window because there's always going to be a hole here or there in the lineup or rotation because somebody's going through growing pains. If you have a chance to avoid that, why wouldn't you?
Players that will be here in 2020:
Moncada
Giolito
Lopez
Kopech
Players that are all free agents before 2026:
Moncada
Giolito
Lopez
Kopech
Think about this long and hard before playing silly games with service time. If they bring up Robert in late August and Madrigal in September, they have a chance to be the 2015 Cubs in 2020. If they don't, it is likely 2020 is another rebuilding year. Eloy has been here since day 1 and he's still struggling at the plate, as well as showing promise. Do you really want to go through that all season with Robert next year?
I agree but with this logic they should both be called up now.

Nah, I don’t see that. Agree with fathom, different circumstances, kid can hit but even offseason hopefully he can put on just a little bit more muscle, etc.
I imagine him up around June 1, maybe earlier if the Sox come out the gates strong.
June? There is no reason at all to keep him down after the April deadline next season.

Free Yermin!
Why the hell is Yermin not up yet? Probably because the front office doesn't want to look stupid by having to get rid of Reed already.

Big Daddy's back and at DH.
And if Kenny-Hahn were smart, they'd keep him there.
St. Theo knew what he was giving up.
If Eloy played defense better he'd be in the Cubs lineup.
We certainly wouldn't have gotten him and Cease for Q.
Let's be sensible here.
You are not being sensible.

Sox in on Marcell Ozuna? I mean, maybe. Or not.

Who would you prefer? This is a huge upgrade for the team. Most of you are underrating him. He puts up solid numbers every year and had an amazing offensive season just 2 years ago, he is only 28 and can do it again. I still don't understand why so many are against this. Most of the other names available aren't significantly better than him, in fact most aren't even better in general.
