The argument that the Sox are punting 2020 because Robert spent two weeks in AAA next season is such a terrible take.
If the Sox punt 2020, it’s because they didn’t spend money on legitimate SP and acquire at least one above average position player. Not because their top prospect wasn’t called up the previous season and played like 10 games in the minor leagues to start 2020.
It is more about him spending the whole year in minors this year delaying his development in the majors.

Yah, I'd love to watch Robert right now as as well. But this team sucks, and I am happy to be patient and wait until ~ 4/20/2020 when this team should be significantly better positioned to win baseball games. Good things come to those that wait.
If you want to win next year then you should want him up this year. Why do so many forget that players need to also develop in the majors? It took Moncada a year and a half and Eloy is still learning how to hit major league pitching.

castillo and yolmer...two biggest LOSERS in the MLB.
What is winning percentage?

The offense being terrible in a lost season isn’t really a good justification to lose an extra year of control on Robert and Madrigal. I hope they wait until April of next year.
It is unless you want next year to be another lost season. Players need time to develop in the majors too and it is better for them to do so in a lost season.

Just bring up Madrigal. He would do better than Yolmer and develop fine in the majors right now.

Enough is enough with Covey. He is not a major league quality pitcher and never will be. Hopefully today is the last time we will ever see him in a Sox uniform
He has been pretty solid this year by White Sox pitching standards and I think he should have had the chance to get out of the first inning.

If you go by career WAR per first round pick over the last decade or so the White Sox aren't looking bad. Every team has first rounders who never amount to anything.
That is likely because Sale skews the numbers to make the Sox look better.

Eloy has twice the amount of homers as Vlad Jr in the same amount of games, why isn't he in the Derby?
-
He can clearly handle minor league pitching and I don't think he has much to learn down there. Yea, he needs to learn to "slug" a bit more but he can develop that as he plays in the majors.

Ricky is an idiotic for pinch hitting Collins and his massive K rate against Kimbrel because the stupid righty lefty match up.
-
Kimbrel hasn't looked too good, maybe a comeback in the 9th.

I really hope we see Madrigal joining him soon. Mainly curious to see how he fares with the juiced MLB ball.
Madrigal should just come straight to the majors. If he had some swing and miss issues I could see him benefiting from AAA before the big league but he doesn't need it.

When did Eaton and Quintana become elite?
When Quintana was in the top 5 pitchers in WAR the previous 4 seasons and Eaton put up 6+ WAR prior to the trade. Point is that these trades are different then the "flip" trades when we get players who go into the minors system and never hear about them again.

I’m guessing he wasn’t a Sox fan back when that trade actually happened. ?
"Flip" is not a term I ever heard anyone using to describe trades prior to this rebuild so I am referring specifically to the trades that have occurred since it started.

What a stupid response.
How did we get Moncada and Kopech?
How did we get Eloy and Cease?
How did we get Giolito?
By trading elite players. A better question question would be what have we gotten for all the "flipped" players? Nothing.

We've seen all 3 of Kopech, Cease and Giolito at the MLB level now. How would you line 'em up?
Cease has better stuff than all of them, well at least among our guys(haven't seen enough of Cole). Kopech never put up the K rate numbers that Cease had in the minors prior to his AAA struggles this year.

When does Vaughn start playing?

Imagine another world where the Shields trade did not occur. Imagine in this world that we retained our talent and Tatis Jr.
In this world, we don’t suck completely and as such draft for guys like Madrigal and Vaughn.
Why do you assume the team wouldn't rebuilt if the Shields trade didn't happen? That team was collapsing before the Shields trade and would have had a losing record even without him. Without the Shields trade we likely would have rebuilt anyway and still had Tatis.
-
I'd love of have Quintana back but I don't think it will happen. What would be the estimation of what we would have to give up to get him? This team is looking to compete next year and even if Quintana is now a 4+ ERA pitcher rather than a 3+ ERA pitcher it would still help immensely considering our rotation is currently a bunch of 6+ ERA pitchers and Giolito.

Cause Tilson isn’t good
He is much better than Cordell.

Tilson is much better and should be playing most games regardless of whether the starter is right or left handed.

Eloy is at his ceiling a prototypical 5 hitter on a great offensive team.
Since when are power hitters who hit above .300 prototypical 5 hitter? The number 3 spot historically has been for the best bat in the lineup, guys who hit for power and average, I think Eloy should be moved to 3rd spot now with Moncada and Anderson batting either 1 or 2 and Abreu clean up.

This is my "realistic" 2020 rotation; I don't think the sox are going to pursue Cole at anything more than cursory.
We shouldn't except this from the front office. There are no budget limitations for this team to pursue Cole for real and get him.

Don't see people complaining about this one any longer...
ERA under 6? That is good by our rotations standards.

Coop went right to work in "fixing" Cease by lowering his average velocity

In the minors he was often 97-99mph.
