  1. Again, this is the case for all teams contending. No team is going 7-8 deep for starting pitchers.
  2. This would apply to all the teams contending.
  3. Not sure how he would have the scoop on any of those unless he ran into them in Punta Cana.
  4. I rather have the guy who can hit both LH and RH pitchers, at an offensive MVP level.
  5. If you can't differentiate the qualify of hitter Cruz is vs Encarnacion, then maybe you need to stop watching baseball.
  6. This. Who the fuck cares what side you hit from as long as you hit well.
  7. Who? Who is this "lefty masher" available you want them to get?
  8. What would we have done with this Tweet full of nothing from Cishek
  9. He's gonna cost at least $10 million. You don't make a move like this for the Jeff Blauser factor or because he's a good clubhouse guy. He better hit.
  10. Except in this case there is no sign Cruz is on the downtrend. I'd love Cruz in the middle of this lineup for one season.
  11. Quintana is the guy to go get. Outside of his freak injury last year, the guy is still dependable for 180 innings and strikes out close to 1 per inning.
  12. Here we go again with people wanting to trade away the farm.
  13. The Sox have limited bullets to spend. Need to be sure those bullets are used on guys who are 100% ready to contribute. A 30 pitch showcase by Klubber is a very risky proposition.
  14. Just have a hunch, LaRussa being old school isn't looking for a rotating DH. Just like he got his way with a lockdown closer, he's going to get a DH. With each passing day, If that Nelson Cruz prize tag drops to the $10 million range for one season, you have to make a play. The guy still posted elite numbers last season. I have no problem Vaughn getting a full Minor League season under his belt.
  15. Right, but different times. Sox were losing 100 games when Giolito was a project. You can't afford projects when looking to contend for a World Series.
  16. Colome's ERA and Save stats are a great example of stats that lie.
  17. We've reached the point of this discussion of comparing save stats as to who is better. At least it's not ERA comparison. But still dumb no doubt.
