  1. The only paradox is this ongoing idea that the Sox will spend big this off-season.
  2. This season is reminding me of 2000. Tremendous offense with questionable pitching. At least we have a 1A type horse at the top in Giolito this time, instead of Jim Parque for game 1.
  3. If the Sox refused to trade Kopech this week with a chance to really contend for a WS, then there is no point to trade him for 2021. He's in that rotation come April.
  4. Unfortunately #1 starters get paid $200+ million in free agency. That's not going to happen while JR owns the team.
  5. Factors working against Grandal: 1) He signed a team record deal at $18 million per season. People are expecting greatness based on that. 2) The Dumb Ass manger has him anchored in the 2-3-4 spot of the lineup all year 3) While McCann is not as good as Grandal, the gap between them is way closer than people think with also factoring the fact that the teams' best pitchers prefer to pitch to McCann.

At no point myself or anyone criticizing Grandal mentioned Batting Average.

That's one thing I'm very confident will not happen. JR allows his announcers to speak freely when it comes to this. If you recall, Funk and King where very open in describing bad coaching when it came to Hoiberg and Boylen. Even mocking them at times during the telecast. Stone keeps his criticism professional.

Hahh has done a lot of good in that department. But the GM position is about winning. There have been plenty GMs out there who can build a good farm an good young core of talent, but ultimately you need to get that last push with acquiring veteran talent to get you over the top. Starting from his first veteran move which was Keppinger to today, Rick Hahn has a terrible track record in that department.

Renteria is incompetent at this job. But it shouldn't have been last night's game to come to this conclusion. However, I'd launch Rick Hahn right along with him for his continued failures in free agency and veteran trades. The only veteran worth a damn from this offseason has been Keuchel. Grandal, EE, Mazara, Cishek, Gonzalez have all been terrible. Renteria can only play the players handed to him.
  10. Cishek's best pitch of the year, and we didn't get to see it.
  11. Please yank that clown out of the top of the order. Enough is enough.
  12. OMG. Stop listening to The Score.
  13. Here we go again with this made up bullshit. WHEN DID RICK HAHN COME OUT TO ASSURE EVERYONE THAT THEY 100% WOULD BE ADDING A STARTING PITCHER HERE IN THE DEADLINE. WHEN?
  14. I can guarantee NO ONE, not a single Sox fan will remember a post like this while the Sox are in the heat of a playoff series vs the Yankees or Astros in October. When Cease doesn't make it out of the 3rd inning after 75 pitches in game 3, every single Sox fan will sit there and ask "why the hell didn't we trade for another pitcher in August?" "Fire Rick!!!"
  15. I agree, but this is like a Unicorn season. Anything can happen. Guys could get sick during the playoffs where all of a sudden the WS could be there for the taking.
  16. I think the argument would pass for a rebuilding team which all of a sudden was flirting with a WC position. But based on the huge steps taken by a few guys here, this team is another SP away right now to be a serious contender to walk away with a trophy at the end.
  17. I don't think anyone is not wanting to give Cease time. Cease is fine right now being a #4 or #5 an possibly not getting a start in the playoffs right now.
  18. You signed up for these services to post that?
  19. Scott Greggor is not employed by the Sox
  20. That's just dumb reporting. No team will ever admit to this. I don't get how some of these reporters gain National Status.
  21. I agree. People follow this guy like some sort of Cult Hero. So glad Steve Stone blackballed this clown.
  22. They're going all in. Not worried about how their team will look in 2024. Nice
  23. With 3/5 of your rotation struggling to get thru 5 innings in 2021, this place will have a total meltdown here by mid May when they realize Ricky has burned the bullpen out. Cease and especially Lopez have been very disappointing so far. Had one of those guys taken that #3 role and taken off with pitching efficient innings, the comfort level going forward would not be one of needing to sell off part of the future right now for an established starter.
  24. Well, you can also argue that you have to strike early on the front end of this window knowing you have some guys that are only under team control for the next 3-4 years like Abreu, Giollito, and Anderson. It's never too early to start contending for a championship.
