  1. Scott Greggor is not employed by the Sox
  2. That's just dumb reporting. No team will ever admit to this. I don't get how some of these reporters gain National Status.
  3. I agree. People follow this guy like some sort of Cult Hero. So glad Steve Stone blackballed this clown.
  4. They're going all in. Not worried about how their team will look in 2024. Nice
  5. With 3/5 of your rotation struggling to get thru 5 innings in 2021, this place will have a total meltdown here by mid May when they realize Ricky has burned the bullpen out. Cease and especially Lopez have been very disappointing so far. Had one of those guys taken that #3 role and taken off with pitching efficient innings, the comfort level going forward would not be one of needing to sell off part of the future right now for an established starter.
  6. Well, you can also argue that you have to strike early on the front end of this window knowing you have some guys that are only under team control for the next 3-4 years like Abreu, Giollito, and Anderson. It's never too early to start contending for a championship.
  7. Thanks WSD, way to go out on a limb there.
  8. It's starts with Kopech, Vaughn for sure. More than likely Stiever, Collins, and Adolfo. It would easily be a 5-6 for 2 deal.
  9. That's for Rick Hahn to decide. But if you'd get both Woodruff and Hader you don't feel this team is instant WS contenders? For not only 2020, but 2021 and 2022? I love the potential in Vaughn. But he plays 1B. 1) Abreu isn't letting that position go while he is signed here nor do I feel management has the stones to take it away from him 2) Abreu is still real good 3) A replacement 1B/DH isn't hard to get down the line. In fact you need to start planning in getting Eloy out of the OF.
  10. Cubs gave up Gleyber Torres, a premium position elite prospect, for 2 months of Chapman. Hader (the next best reliever in the game) under 3+ years control not worth Andrew Vaughn to you? If it's what you consider the finishing piece, you have to do it.
  11. Preller is that "genius" in your fantasy football league who uses a write-in sticker for some Div 3 RB from Northern Alaska.
  12. Padres doing all the moves, all for a wild card spot. They can make 10 more trades, they're not catching LAD.
  13. Just throwing darts here, the Dyson trade was a bit surprising. He basically does what we need Engel to do. Is Engel a guy someone likes for CF? Say a team starting a stiff like Avi Garcia in CF each night?
  14. It hasn't stopped people from following WSD for "inside information," has it?
  15. Indeed Some folks just go all in with their emotions with this stuff. Just be cautious, I've learned cautious is always the best way to be a Sox fan.
  16. That's the way I understood it. And btw, who cares if it's not announced tonight? What is he, Hahn's publicist?
  17. Getting someone solid out there means you have to spend big. Not spending big, gets you a guy like Nomar Mazara.
  18. The Sox are not spending anymore big money this next off-season. We need to get this through our heads.
  19. Well, that takes Gio out of the Wednesday start. Reynaldo won't survive an inning vs the Twins.
  20. And the Angels have anchored themselves, not once (Pujols), twice (Upton), thrice (Rendon), and now the biggest whale (Trout) with mega deals that aren't producing enough wins. At least the Sox cheapness has kept them from going off the deep end like this. Balance is key.
  21. This thread went from "Realistic trade candidates" to trading the entire farm plus absorbing $400 million for Mike Trout.
