  1. I don't see any possible way any team gets both. You're talking $600 million / $70 million per. Minimum Neither of these guys are taking a hair cut.
  2. This indeed. They need to finally get an actual bidding way to figure out where this is going to end. Sox putting out the only legit (lowball) offer is not how this was going to end. Unfortunately, it's the only offer so far.
  3. Manny has to be waiting on the this Phillies meeting with Harper. It would be dumb for him not to. Sox fans have to hope Phillies are able to make the Harper deal happen this weekend.
  4. He's not getting that $300 million deal. At least not with the two teams that remain in pursuit.
  5. Or who's to say Machado doesn't say screw it and I'll just sign a 1 year $35 million deal for a team of my choice. Try Free Agency again next season.
  6. It does concern me that you are a catering a bit too much on the personnel aspect to get him. You don't want to have him walk into that locker room thinking he owns it like a Sammy Sosa. Plus you have a micro-manager in Renteria who doesn't play favoritism.
  7. All money equal, the Sox are still ahead with how crazy high the NY tax is.
  8. This better be a Machado Caddie request. I'd much rather take my lumps with either Cordell /Engel in another lost season if no Machado. Hell, go get Denard Span if we desperately need a 1 year stopgap.
  9. I truly think the Sox cannot go into 2019 looking at this as another "Tank Season." An effort needs to be made to at least attempt to start winning more games. It's part of the development process for these young players, start winning baseball games. I'm sure the Front office knows this and has their backup plan in place if they swing and miss on the big 2. Even if it means giving a guy like Moustakas a 3 year deal, then so be it. Or adding pieces to the bullpen to try to hold leads late in games.
  10. All I'm saying is don't put the only credibility out there on the Heyman, Rosenthals, Morosi folks just because they are household names. Some guys get lucky and get their scoops from connections. Hell, WhiteSoxDave hasn't paid for a meal in this town (it seems) all because he nailed the Shields deal ahead of everyone.
  11. You realize those MSM guys noted there get their information from the lower tier guys like a Dan Clark, right?
  12. Why would you pay $100 million + for a "Legit CF" which would block 3 of your best 10 prospects who can also play CF? (Robert, Rutherford, Gonzalez). If Luis Robert is not starting in CF by 2020, the Sox have bigger development issues than we thought. I'm OK with Moncada flopping at this point, but you better get stardom from Eloy and Robert once they land here.
  13. Guys arriving at different times and peaking late into service times reminds me of the 90s White Sox. I really hope our Championship window truly opens in 2020 to avoid a small window of contention like in the 90s. These 2018 ML performances by Moncada, Giolito, Anderson, Lopez, Fulmer sure haven't done enough to make me feel like 2020 could be a reality. Kind of feels like a lost season in that sense.
  14. I agree it's the BoSox who initiated his rush to the bigs, but maybe the Sox should have held him down longer themselves. Especially on starting his service clock when clearly this team was going nowhere for awhile.
  15. Last couple weeks have been the best I've seen Yoan from the Right Side. Let's hope.
  16. If compared to his horrendous April and May, then yeah no doubt. But it's still not a comfortable watch for me.
  17. Lucas survived, but once again it almost feels like I'm watching his starts while holding my breathe under water.
  18. Or even experiment with this tank of a season. Why not send Yolmer out there to get some work?
  19. Giolito: Mediocre stuff and Terrible Control Lopez: Electric stuff and can't miss bats. So frustrating.
  20. Hopefully Cordell gets heated up quick and finally puts this Engel story to rest.
  21. I'm all for moving Tilson to the leadoff hole and dropping Moncada to #2 or lower.
  22. He's been playing a much better OF recently.
  23. Well, it goes for both he and Anderson. Neither at this point has solidified taking claim at their positions. Anderson having the longer opportunity. And with how players develop in our Farm, I'd take the wait and see approach on Madrigal also.
