This, 100% is where I was getting at. As I was saying each and every night on every game thread while everyone was being so distracted with their massive hard-on hate for LaRussa and the coaches. It mostly lies on the players. It's as simple as shown here by this ESPN piece where a manager swap does nothing for the expectations. In fact they are considered one step lower than where they finished.
-
So according to ESPN, LaRussa gets replaced and we will be worse. Is it too late to hire him back?
-
.712 career OPS in 900 ABs while surrounded by elite talent in that lineup. But let's trade away the house for him, Moncada and Grandal will provide him all the protection he needs.
-
Of my biggest Rick Hahn gripes, this right here is at the top of them. I understand he has his hands tied on a lot big $$$ issues, but his management of the 40/26 man roster is atrocious.
-
Both he and Mooney are signed for about 1.5 seasons, it's becomes very expensive thereafter. I would have rather rolled dice with a high WR draft pick to extend that Free Agency window at that position.
-
This thought process makes me very concerned with what kind of faith Poles has in scouting and identifying draft talent.
-
Help me out here, but is there not Claypool receiving talent available in most 2nd rounds, especially high 2nd round where the bears are heading?
-
My sources are now confirmimg the Grifol hire, BTW.
-
Criticizing/arguing is a lot more different than blocking.
-
I don't think they even considered Quatraro for an interview. To me, anyone from the Rays or Guardians organization is worth a sit-down with. Those two teams do more with less than anyone else in the league. It's a culture l'd like injected into our clubhouse. But who knows if our clubhouse is still salvageable at this point. Guys here already got paid, big. Unlike what they do over there in Cleveland and Tampa.
-
I'm not talking politics. I'm stating an example on where it's childish to completely block out someone who doesn't agree with you. And for a managerial hire, tell me that's not childish? It's actually laughable.
-
Oof. That's so childish. That's like people who take pride for blocking pro Biden / pro Trump followers. It's a managerial hire, for baseball. Entertainment. Let's get a grip on life here.
-
This is exactly what I meant by delusional.
-
It's unnecessary fear and folks just looking to drown in a cup of water. Tony LaRussa is not the main reason the White Sox lost this past season. Until we get a grip on that fact as Sox fans, we'll just continue to keep being delusional and not pointing the finger where it belongs. a) The players b) Health c) Rich Hahn. LaRussa comes in right behind that group. And the next manager hire will fall in that exact same place in relevance for White Sox success.
-
I can guarantee to you that regardless of any manager hire, there will be at least a dozen teams bigger laughingstocks over the Sox.
-
Lol. A clown suit would really make the point.
-
Please. That's so childish. Reinsdorf, LaRussa, or any front office hire or manager would not keep me from enjoying my favorite summer pastime.
-
Never been to opening day but let me waste the one time of a special moment and act like a ?.

I've been here for a while now. Hahn didn't get the boot and there has been little blame going on towards the players. They are not deserving of a "learn on the job" manager, all to give them yet another crutch excuse to not get the job on the field done again. Washington or Ozzie, time to play ball. Honeymoon is over for Moncada, Robert, Eloy, Giolito and Co.
