Well, he allows a well known National Writer to do so, why would a fly on the wall accountant matter at this point?
-
LOL. Why, because they're passing up on a coach who's interviewed for manager about a dozen times and passed up on each of those time?
-
He, like most everyone else, knows nothing about Long or Espada. Both are roll of dice hires. Why people get so bent over guys they have no clue who they are as baseball managers is beyond comical to me.
-
Ok, sure ?

"I can't believe the Marlins are screwing this up and not giving the job to Espada. If it was rumored on Twitter by a handful of random bloggers that he is the top candidate, then the job was suppose to be his. These damn owners are always getting in the way. " It's all so silly at this point. As I mentioned earlier, it takes two to make a deal. Espada would need to be equally interested to take any job that's offered to him. The Astros are a huge player here.
-
Well, who's to say the other teams already walking away from him didn't get that memo?
-
Or how about Espada went to the Astros informing them of his offer and then was told it's his job in Houston as soon as Dusty hangs them up, maybe as early as this off-season? It takes two sides to make a deal. Espada isn't desperate to take this Sox job either. https://twitter.com/michaelschwab13/status/1583482262771077120?t=tU9xB_e-qRcQB4A_9XiAbg&s=19

Save it. I turned away season tickets, I don't know how anyone would be willing to give these assholes anymore $$$ for a stupid fanfest. Play better baseball, that's all I'm asking for.
-
OK, let's be real here. Ozzie Guillen is 100X a more qualified candidate right now than LaRussa ever was when they brought him back.
-
I really hope they're not bringing Ozzie in for interview consideration as a "bench coach mentor." This would be so White Sox to handcuff a first time manager like this.
-
LMAO. OK let's settle down, here.
-
Everyone says this until the snow is on the ground.
-
One less piece off the board for Reinsdorf not to screw this up. Bochy, Girardi, and Washington were my least desirable candidates.
-
Is it really? Miami And KC you're not going to be expected to win right away and can work your way in to mold the team your way with very good young prospects up and coming. Here, you inherit and over-paid roster full of injury prone players who are mentally programmed not to hustle to avoid injury. And they're going to expect you to win right away with the owner not doing much for you on the free agency side. This is definitely looking like another rebound job for a veteran manager trying to get back into the game.
-
Depends on how much of his contract will be deferred.
-
"Offshore Betting Favorite" I love how Sox twitter sucks this nonsense up. No one has any clue what's happening inside JR's brain right now.
-
Of the "veteran" names in play, he's truly the only one that makes sense. Nonetheless, the next Sox manager will have to be bilingual IMO. So it's down to Ozzie or Espada for me.
-
Done with them. There's really no longer an incentive to having season tickets IMO when you can get tickets day of game dirt cheap on most weeknights. I'll pay the premium secondary market if they actually make the playoffs.
-
It be easy to have said this had this so called "core" developed into what it was suppose to. I still struggle to find one single guy on the remaining roster right now where I can point to say, yeah, that guy will give me an .800 OPS next season and play 155 games for me. Not one single guy. Availability is a huge part of this game, Abreu laces them up each and every single night despite being in pain. This will be badly missed.

Even if it's for show, at least talking to other people outside the organization and getting their thoughts on what went wrong in 2022 and suggestions on how to fix it is not a bad thing.
