  1. You have to admit when you're wrong and I have to do it. I got fooled by his .830 OPS last season and actually thought he'd become one of those "diamond in the rough" finds good teams tend to get once in a while by scouting and development. But he is not a ML ballplayer. He's Daniel Palka 2.0. And even worse, being forced to play the OF due to the ineptitude of the GM. But with that said, you can still hide a problem like this along with the scrubs like Leury if you're actual big money "Stars" would pull their weight (Grandal, Moncada, Eloy, Pollock, etc).
  2. They're not getting my season ticket renewal, that's for sure. Been supporting this shit since 2004, they've already taken enough of my money.
  3. Which is probably the only good thing of this hire. Has exposed Hahn sucking at his job, drafting sucks, player development sucks.
  4. Lucas and now Liam dropping the biggest turds coming off the All-star break. Those guys are supposed to be leaders.
  5. LMAO, a rumor made up by a minimum wage radio show producer? Ok, sure .
  6. Took one AB to remind me how much a hate his participation to this team and contract.
  7. Just pointing out how terrible Pollock is as an OF, he's Sheets level bad.
  8. Yeah, but there's no need to leave things to chance all because you're worried someone is going to pick up your scrub ass catcher thru waivers. Sheets might be a better CF option than Pollock at this moment, I'd hate to lose a tight game under any of those scenarios.
  9. This is where Rick Hahn loses me. He has zero sense of managing his roster. So if Engel goes down, Leury goes to CF. What happens if you lose an IF on the same game (which with this team is a high probability)? Cement feet Vaughn goes to play a Middle Infield position?
  10. Again, how does any of this help the Sox in 2022? Sox need 2022 help, not a lotto ticket for 2023.
  11. Coming off a terrible season and coming off a really bad injury. Yes, it's dead weight for the rest of the 2022 season and possibly another roster clog (something we are filled with right now). Get a legit LH solution or don't do nothing at all.
  12. There's already so much out of position dead weight in the OF, sure, let's add another guy we're not sure can contribute. Easy pass for me.
  13. That front 3 SP rotation plus Soto gets you nowhere. There would be no point trading for Soto if the target isn't winning a WS 2022, 2023, 2024.
  14. This window is closing faster than you think. Giolito, Anderson and Cease will be free agents close to the same time Soto will be.
  15. We need to truly look at this as a 2.5 year rental. Try to win one of the next 3 WS with him.
  16. Outside of Montgomery (who barely is one), the Sox don't have any of these so called "elite" prospects to hug. This is why the price will be heavier for a team like the Sox. Good luck trying to compete with a stacked farm system on trying to trade for an MVP candidate like Soto.
  17. It's total different times. This trade is in-season vs Sale being offseason. I believe the competition will be higher here as there are more teams who feel like they can win now and would be willing to push their chips to the middle.
  18. You have to account for service time also. The two headliners we received for Sale had their full 6 years available to the Sox. The Nats would be getting only 4 years for each of Vaughn and Crochet.
  19. I think the only deal that would get the Nats to jump on a call from the Sox would be Vaughn, Montgomery, Crochet, + 2 other fillers.
