The guy played a hell of an OF last year for someone who never played out there. With some seasoning, I see no reason why he can't develop into a formidable everyday defensive OF.

My two concerns with "trying to go all in" as some of you guys want: a) we make another stupid short sighted trade. I don't want to give up an Andrew Vaughn for a one year pitcher rental. b) we finally break the bank on a mega deal for say Conforto (who so many of you guys love for some odd reason) and he becomes our Jason Heyward. Here's what I do want the Sox to do the minute they decide to stay away from the remaining Free Agent Market...... Announce long term deals for Giolito and TA.

Many of these teams didn't have a core already in place as we had. I think many of you guys are just to blind to see that a lot of the legwork to construct a championship caliber roster was already done by the Sox front office the last 5 years. Let's appreciate what we have here. Yes, I want to the Sox to break right through the Tax Line and go for it all. But I'm also not going to sit here pissing and shitting in my pants for not making big moves.

These big ticket FA who held out before the lockout are sure sweating bullets at this point. I think 1 year deals are coming, like it was rumored for Kris Bryant.

Picking up Kimbrel's option was a huge fuck up by Rick, there is no denying that. But to assume that his salary slot would automatically be turned over to one single guy +$4 million is being naïve when it comes to understanding White Sox financials.

This argument is BS because Conforto is not signing for a 1 year deal.

Trying to compete now doesn't involve signing Andrelton Simmons as your starting SS.

It's going to be Vaughn as the everyday RF as long as it clicks vs RH pitchers (as should be expected). Engel will go to RF in late innings and Leury to LF. Sheets will get the bulk of the starts at DH and sit vs LH pitchers, allowing Grandal to get off his knees and play 1B while Abreu going to DH. It's really not the end of the world as many see it. With that said, I really wish they would have done something a bit more grand at 2B.

It might be no big deal, but is it worth the risk when every Penny from your owner counts?

I'm sure with the kind of money he's getting paid he didn't need to wait for the lockout to end before hiring a specialist.
