Now Cease isn't worthy of being a #3? OK dude, put the coffee down and log off. Go play Fantasy Baseball elsewhere. -

There's a difference between being "OK" vs being "Realistic" with the situation. Every Sox fan wishes Keuchel would pull an Adam LaRoche and pack his shit and go home leaving all the money on the table. That's not happening, we need to live with the fact that he will be part of that rotation. Like it or not. -

They'll roll dice with him early to see if he finds a way to get people out and eat up innings, then they'll dump him right before the options vests. There is no way he goes to the pen, or they would have tried that option in the playoffs. -

Keuchel is not going to the bullpen, we need to stop with this. -

Probably not, but I'm done making short sighted moves for any of our controllable assets going forward. -

But then again goes this unnecessary anxiety folks have about having to add another SP right now. Not many teams contending are going ACES 1-5 out of the gate. I want Kopech to get a chance to start, PERIOD. I understand his innings limit, but I'm also not blocking him right now to get a chance to get those innings in. And Keuchel isn't going anywhere too. So where does another SP fit to start the season? Let's use those few bullets we have in $$$ and trade pieces to solidify a) Second Base b) RF (and even RF I'm not to worried about right now since I also need Vaughn to play the field everyday) -

I'd want at the very least a player with 3 years control. -

Sheets for one year of Bassitt would be so White Sox. I really wish we can finally turn the page in short-sighted trades like this. -

Ketel Marte is the guy to go out and get. And I'm fine with giving up Andrew Vaughn + + for him. -
Up until this week, little was said about the International Draft being a "big ticket" issue. Everything was about the CBT, Bonus Pool, Minimum Wage, Expanded Playoffs.
-
I think now that ship has truly sailed. They were going to force 3 DHs to get that done if a deal was signed today. There is no way they can do 10 now IMO.
-
Pandemic, an ugly WAR getting started by Russia, a Melting Economy ..... Meanwhile Owners and the Union can't get off their pissing contest. Zero sense of reality. Fuck them both.
-
Although I believe it hurt us more than help us, I'm fine with the man on 2nd rule. LONG xtra inning games are not good for anyone.
-
If "competitive" balance is what everyone is looking for and "bettering the game", then an international draft is a no-brainer. There's a lot of dirty behind the scenes crap still going on today. A draft will help fix that.
-
It's going to be a very bad look MLBPA to not take this deal at this point. (Assuming the proposal is accurate)
-
I think the NFL headlines might work in the favor of getting a deal done quicker. Or at least add to the urgency (I hope).
-
A floor helps the mid level guys a lot more than pushing the CBT a weak $10 million annually. A team will much rather use that extra $10 million to blow out the Market on A Mike Trout type guy than for veteran fillers.
-
It's the hope owners have, to break the union by having those guys in that mid level stand up and say "what the fuck, let's play." It's those mid level players who should be fighting for a cap and floor instead. Without a floor, a lot of of those $8 million - $12 million aging veterans go away very quickly in place of cheap labor. Look at the NBA, 30+ year old veterans go collecting checks for a very long time and for big $$$ while logging less than a dozen minutes per night.
-
As soon as they take the field, you'll be back.
-
Vaughn has to play somewhere, and it's not going to be DH. So unless he's being traded, I don't see how the Sox can go sign Conforto. I believe RF and DH will be a mix and mitch situation, and that's not a bad thing. Especially if we wat to keep Grandal's bat in the lineup when he doesn't catch. Grandal to 1B would be the option with Abreu taking a day off at DH, especially with a good LH pitcher on that night. 2B is the most glaring hole on this team. That's where I'd focus all my attention.
-
$1 million to purchase publicity in their favor, smart move.
-
Salary cap and floor is what this defines. Players are scared of that. Can't have it both ways.
-
This is where the fight should be, if players truly "cared" about the game. The minor league players keep getting fucked.
-
So tired reading this BS from players also. If they truly wanted to "improve" the game then they'd buy into a salary floor which would then also lead to a cap with it. Pushing the Tax to the higher levels only helps the rich get richer. Force the Pirates, Indians, Rays, Royals, As to spend with a floor.
-
So by cancelling games here, are they in essence manipulating service time once again since it will be a shortened season?
