  1. I would take the White Sox scenario 100X over the current state of the Rangers.
  2. So "we're not broke" says the owners? That's some ass backwards negotiating tactics for a new CBA.
  3. The Sox have "won" the off-season twice in like the last 10 years and it's gotten them shit. Just like the Padres.
  4. In what league is a 5.05 ERA 1.307 WHIP -.7 WAR considered "Solid?"
  5. Laurence Holmes baseball IQ is very limited, as is most of the Score Radio these days. Stick to Bears talk Laurence.
  6. I actually prefer no rumors as those tend to give us a better a shot.
  7. Just like the Royals, I didn't think pitching was what the Tigers were lacking. Their lineup sucks, they can't compete there. Not worried.
  8. $35 million for Max Scherzer, LMAO. Every offseason, the same craziness by some of our fans here. It's as if we just started following the team this season. JERRY REINSDORF STILL OWNS THE WHITE SOX!
  9. Yep, let's all blow it up again an restart another rebuild. All because of 12 inning sample size.
  10. We literally just saw two teams go at it for the WS with barely 3 starters each and underwhelming aces on each staff. People need to get off this fixation on "we need more starting pitching." That's a luxury at this point, especially when your team has limited resources on where to invest. Get me a well rounded lineup and tighten up the bullpen. That's what wins in October these days.
  11. No one is saying the rotation situation is a slam dunk guarantee. But how can you not be willing to take what we have there assuming you'll be able to get better at 2B and the Bullpen and even perhaps the OF? I'll take that option all day over crying my eyes out for seeing Rodon go away. $18.5 million for Carlos Rodon is absurd, and when you make a qualifying offer you have to understand there is even that remote chance a player as frequently hurt as Carlos might be willing to take a bite at it.
  12. Lined up as listed there, how can we argue starting rotation its this team's biggest weakness? Another starter, one at $18+ million, is a luxury at this point considering the glaring holes at 2B, OF, Bullpen. I'd be very upset if Rodon sinking $18.5 million would be the difference in having to go with a complete scrub at 2B
  13. Adam Frazier was less than spectacular in SD. Is there a match there?
  14. Agree 100%. They're going to keep coddling the child to play LF (Eloy). Vaughn by default moves to RF. At least this buys another year to see what develops out of Cespedes with another full season in AA / AAA. Sheets should see ever opportunity for ABs at DH and 1B, especially against RH pitchers. Abreu to DH and Grandal to 1B against LH starters. 2B is by far the biggest weakness that needs to get addressed.
  15. 2nd Base. There are bodies you already have that can put on an OF glove and perhaps surprise you. There is nothing down in the farm for middle infield.
  16. * Speed * Smarts * Baserunning * Defense All things that were hyped Madrigal was great at the minute he would hit a ML Field. Not one of those things was anywhere close to being true. In fact the only thing that match the scouting report, Lots of Contact. Yes, and it was a lot of very soft contact. Time to move on.
  17. Well, when you make comments like "Mr 3,000", I'd also get in line to punch him in the face.
  18. Classless? For giving his opinion at the time and calming all the bridge jumpers on what they perceived as an overpay? Yes, the results on the trade sucked now. But the deal was a no-brainer at the time. And it's been said the Cubs had better offers on the table but as a favor to Craig and his sick kid they wanted to allow him to stay in Chicago.
  19. When I read the investigation report, it definitely does.
  20. The trade will end up being a huge L on Hahn's resume. However it's been said by many including Steve Stone, let's not kid ourselves on Madrigal ever living up to his draft status.
  21. On their best night, the Sox could beat anyone. So the answer is yes.
  22. Indicative of how this team way overachieved and more kudos need to go towards LaRussa making something out of a very anemic underperforming offense most of the season. I understand health played a big factor on why Eloy, Robert, and Grandal didn't make the list. But there are no excuses why Abreu and Moncada underperformed so badly.
  23. Alright, we need to get off this dumbass old school baseball mentality. If you're a good hitter, I don't care if you hold you damn bat with your feet. Good hitters should be able to hit anyone.
  24. The only fact from this statement is that he was a 1st round pick.
