  1. Ehhhhh, I mean 2 featured guys like the Patriots had with Gronk/Hernandez. KCs 2nd TE only had 299 yards. I'm taking like 2 600+ yard guys.
  2. Random thought....I'm surprised 2 TE sets haven't really been a thing all that much. Back when Gronk and Hernandez were doing their thing it seemed to be all the craze. Now when thinking about adding a guy like Engram I got to thinking, do teams still highly utilize 2 TEs and the answer appears to be no. Pre Washington game we saw a lot of 2 TE sets out of the Bears, but that appeared to be more out of the necessity of having an extra blocker. I think Poles extends Kmet, and I certainly wouldn't be mad at em.
  3. Jurko is claiming Warren will be the new President by week's end.
  4. Somewhat interesting that he mentioned possibly going way down in the draft as well. I love Carter and Anderson, and there's a way to go up and get him, but I really wanna find a way to get JSN. I look at what Olave and Wilson did this year and think, my goodness, JSN outproduced both of them 2 years ago.
  5. I think both points are fair. I do think he has a place on this team though. I did say I wanted to see them throwing to the RBs more.....Wish we saw more outta Ebnar because he was that guy in college. Where is Danny Woodhead? Lol
  6. I feel like Khalil Herbert needs some respect put on his name. Lol. I think he lead the league in yards per carry.
  7. If I'm the Bears I just take a guy like Chase Brown in the 5th to pair with Herbert.
  8. Who the he'll is on the Saints outside of Michael Thomas? Just heard they are 45m in the hole going into next season.
  9. Oh I definitely agree as evidence by my previous posts. I do think there is a world where this defense drastically improves and Fields doesn't. He does have to improve as a passer and I do think that will happen, but it may not. If he doesn't, you have ammo to move up next year with a trade down this year.
  10. I kinda doubt it and I'm still a Fields fan. Watson was way more accomplished. I think I'd gladly take 2 1s and some change if they go that route. I still think you give Fields another year. Trade down thus year and if the team still sucks next year you hopefully have the assets to move up to get Williams next year. Drafting a QB is hard man. Justin Fields had the best stats in college between Fields/Young/Williams.
  11. I think this is absolutely the most ideal scenario. I so badly want Payne to hit free agency and to add Carter or Anderson. Perhaps even throw in one of the higher end DEs as well. With this secondary looking to be pretty dang good, if you add 2 huge cogs to the DL, this defense should absolutely be playoff caliber. Washington has soooo much talent on their DL that they still have to pay so I'm hoping they let Payne go....I do fear that he played too good. Among DTs he was 2nd in sacks and 1st in TFLs. If he hits the market the Bears CAN'T be outbid.
  12. Poles did spend his first 2 picks on the defensive side of the ball, so they haven't totally gotten away from the defensive side of the ball. Daron Payne is the top guy out there and I would absolutely overpay to get him.
  13. This team can be really good. I really hope Lonzo comes back.
  14. Soooooo... Bryce Young and CJ Stroud.... are they better prospects than Fields? I'm really trying to wrap my head around all this as I don't really hate the idea. Not because I don't like Fields, but if these guy are "Better," it does make some sense. Is there any comp to what a Fields trade could look like?
  15. The way I see it, the 9 spots on the offensive and defensive line are the biggest problems on this team. Of those 9, I think it's realistic to say 2 should no doubt be back and start in Whitehair and Jenkins. Injuries are a concern with both, yes, but that is what it is in the NFL. Then there's 2 other guys that I wouldn't hate to see back and starting in Justin Jones and a stronger Braxton Jones(Preferably on the right side.) There's an argument to be made that a combo of Dom Rob and Trevis Gipson on one side at DE. With better talent on the line, I could see Gipson have a bounce back year. So with 125M and 3 picks in the top 75, I really think they can fill those 4-7 positions on the lines and it's gonna make a world of difference. Will it make them the favorites? No maybe not. Detroit is for real, Packers and Vikings are still relevant too. But I do think they can contend of they play their cards right NEXT year.
  16. That was talked about during the off-season as well but I think it was just "They aren't surrounding him with talent so they must not like him" sort of talk. Could be true, but man they better be right and they better be right right away. That said, I think you HAVE to give him another year with an OL in front of him.
  17. Woof. Vikings are said to be playing all their starters, but against Nathan Peterman? Why bother. Vikings aren't capable of the havoc Detroit can bring, but this should be another blood bath.
  18. Eh. I wouldn't hate it so long as they also put enough resources into the lines. Also, one thing that really bothers me, I was really expecting to see the RBs be a bigger part of the passing game. In the 3 years Getsy was in GB, their RBs were targeted more than 100 times a season. This year for the Bears, the RBs have been targeted 57 times. You would think those types of passes would happen more when your OL sucks. Or maybe they need the RB to stay in and block? Or maybe because teams don't have to blitz, the intermediate game is not open enough? Everything starts up front. Fix the line and everything starts to open up.
  19. Ehhhhh, there are factors to that. If the Bears truly believed he was a franchise QB, you can't just pass on him and hope you find the guy when you're ready.
  20. I think you might wanna look at the Bengals draft history.
  21. The key difference between the Lions and the Bears is the OL and I do really think it's that simple. The Bears OL is really that bad. Goff has been blitzed 159 times and sacked 22 times. Bears QBs have been blitzed just 92 times resulting in 57 sacks. That's just mind blowing honestly. Teams don't have to blitz the Bears to get to the QB. When teams can simply rush 4 and still dominate the line of scrimmage, that's a big problem. That means they can 7 into coverage which creates less holes and makes things just incredibly difficult. I think after that lions game, I'm pretty much off the Braxton jones train. I wanted to believe so badly that he can be good if he just gets stronger in the off-season, but man. He was absolutely destroyed yesterday....I love his athleticism and he seems to be really smart but damn. He has potential If he works his ass off, but I'm not sure I wanna see him at LT. Really sucks that there is no real deal LT in the draft IMO. Same for WR. My dream right now is to trade down to 4 after 2 QBs and Anderson go, you draft Carter, and then you use some of your resources to jump back into the 1st to get JSN. Look at what Olave and Wilson have done this year, and JSN, when healthy, had over 600 more yards than either of them. Hesitantly sign Orlando Brown for LT, hope Whitehair can still hang at LG, draft an OC in the 3rd to compete with Patrick, hope Jenkins can stay healthy at RG, and hope Jones comes into camp yoked and locks down RT(bring back Reiff or sign a similar type just in case)
  22. He garnered a ton of attention pretty much the whole game. Early on he had a sick swim move to create pressure and later on he was clearly held and tackled when he should have gotten another sack. Stat line wasn't pretty, but he absolutely made a difference. The Bears need that type of guy who requires extra attention to open things up for other people.... Kinda wild that Will Anderson didn't even have a tackle and Carter only had 1. Honestly I want both him and Payne on the interior. I wanna do the same with DE. Add a free agent and a 2nd or 3rd round pick. Ideal off-season includes a high end DT, DE, and OT in free agency and a high pick on DT, DE, and IOL(center) in the draft.
  23. Right now, I'm all in on Jalen Carter. Especially after reading an article ESPN just put out on him that I'll link below. I love Will Anderson and I think, if put in the right situation, he's gonna be a star. That said, I'm not so sure his right situation is in a 4-3. Jalen Carter, who went to the same high school as Warren Sapp, is the next Warren Sapp. This is THE guy in this draft. A trade down sounds fun, but right now, my mind has been made. I hope I don't jinx him and he has a stinker tonight. Lol. Super excited to watch him live.
  24. I'd prefer they try and do something similar with the Bengals for Higgins if possible, but yes, I'd be down with this.
