  1. Jack Sanborn is the leading tackler in the league since taking over as a starter. I think a lot of that, and Smith leading the league when he was here, is the DL not making stops, buttttt Sanborn looks like a guy. At the very least I'm more than comfortable with him being the starting Sam next year.
  2. He should definitely sit. If the OL was better I would be fine with him toughing it out and telling him to try and avoid running at all costs, but the OL sucks and the jets pass rush us legit. I feel bad for Semien. They are gonna really get after him....It's gonna be interesting what the narrative will be if Semien comes out and throws for 250+ yards.
  3. Another debate I continue to go back in forth in my mind about is Braxton Jones. I'd like to think he's doing a solid job with plenty of room to grow. Then the other side says, "Is that good enough." LT is undoubtedly the most important position on the line, so is solid with room to grow good enough at that position? I get mixed reviews on Orlando Brown. I think he may be a little overrated and I'm not sure I'm willing to be the team that gives him big money. I'm down on the LT group in the draft. None of em sound like can't miss. I wouldn't be mad if they go thar route, especially if they think Jones would be even better on the right side, but man, Williams and Carter look like they can be all pro type game wreckers which this team desperately needs.
  4. Alright gang, what are our thoughts on Will Anderson in a 4-3? I'm going back and forth between him and Carter, but only because of fit. Anderson can be an absolute game wrecker if used properly. Do we think Flus and Williams can get creative enough and use him like Parsons? Is he big enough to just throw him at DE 50+ snaps a game? Carter might be the better fit for the scheme, but Anderson might be the better player....Not a ton of talent at DE in free agency either. Anderson and Payne vs Carter and Davenport or whoever might be something to consider as well.
  5. I have to think Johnson is hurt. I know he came out of the Dolphins game last week with something (hip?) and he's not been right. Guy was a legit shutdown corner up until last week.
  6. Honestly, I'll take an L on a missed extra kick.
  7. I hope Pringle comes back and shows....something. I hardcore went to bat for him and Kmet in the offseason. Cole is showing signs, now it's Byron's turn. A lot of people said he was able to produce in KC because he was the 3rd or 4th option, well, now he's the 3rd or 4th option behind Mooney, Claypool, and Kmet. Not quite Hill and Kelce butttt.... I know I said I'd be alright if Fields doesn't throw for more than 225 yards in a game this season, but I'm kinda expecting that he will, and it will be this week when he drops 275 with 3 TDs.
  8. And I don't think he'll be paid as an elite WR either. I'm not really pushing for it, but it's more of discussion. I don't want the Bears to spend money just to spend money, but if OBJ comes back and has 5ish good games to close the season and plays well in the playoffs, I'd be intrigued.
  9. I'm hoping OBJ signs with Baltimore and they make it to the super bowl....just because it's such an easy comparison to make with the Bears. Speaking of OBJ. Assuming he's taking a 1 year deal, he's kind of a forgotten man when it comes to next years free agent class. Claypool is known to be a bit of a handful, so I wonder if the Bears might be interested in taking a chance with all the money they have.
  10. Better situation might be an understatement. He was playing behind 3 pro bowl offensive linemen, he had Hollywood Brown who is just as good if not better than Mooney and one of the best tight ends in the league. Yesterday Lamar had no one and completed 53% for 133 yards.
  11. We're halfway through the season and I still don't really know what to think about Kmet. He's obviously shown up in the red zone these past few weeks which is a plus. I have to wonder if hes been able to get more involved because they're more comfortable with Reiff so he doesn't have to pass block as much.
  12. Speaking of the 3T position I brought up in my last post... My #1 target in the offseason Daron Payne had another sack today. He's got the 3rd most among DTs. Javon Hargrave, who is much older, but also a free agent, is 1st among DTs. I would not be upset in the slightest if they sign both of them. I can't decide if I'd rather have Payne and Hargrave while drafting a DE or Payne and Davenport while drafting a DT.
  13. It's to be expected and right now I couldn't care less. Huge offseason for Poles coming up and they have the resources to turn it around on defense. I think they gotta spend big on the DL and that alone is gonna help out every level of the defense. Had to miss the game but man, the highlights look good. Fields is just so dangerous with his feet. If the passing game comes around, we very well could be looking at an MVP candidate in the future.
  14. Borum returned to practice but Flus is still gonna decide between he and Rieff for Sunday. I kinda feel like Rieff was a guy they just signed to possibly flip and now that the trade deadline is over they might as well play him. He's got enough tape on him that you can not play him and keep him healthy incase there's a deal to be made. Could be wrong and they just wanted to see what Borum had. Now that they know he's not the answer I'd rather have Riley out there if Leatherwood isn't up to snuff.
  15. I think that's probably the most ideal situation. I was reading something that said there's a handful of good centers in the draft. I wouldn't mind if they took one in the 2nd or 3rd if it's there and not a reach. I have no idea what to think of Patrick at this point but he'll be back and competing.
  16. I'm hoping for a perfect storm these last 9 weeks. Leatherwood taps into his potential and is a dominant RT, Braxton Jones improves and he's viewed as a legit LT, Jenkins stays healthy and locks down RG, Cody comes back and plays at a pro bowl level, and then they're just looking into adding the best OC in free agency and the draft.
  17. Idk if it's 100% true, nor do I know how bad this makes Poles look, but I remember it being reported that Poles and Fields sat down and looked at the reciever class together and Fields was the guy who wanted Velus. With that in mind Fields and Pickens also had a prior relationship and this was still the direction they went. Not 100% on this, but if true, Poles should probably not be asking Fields again in the future. Lbs.
  18. Also pretty interested in seeing Sanborn and/or Weatherford out there at LB. Klien should be nothing more than depth while they see what they have in these guys.
  19. Gonna be interesting to see how the snaps play out at WR going forward especially with Pringle coming back.
  20. And Juju. That might not be sarcasm. Some quick research on Juju and Chases relationship shows me that Chase thinks Juju is the best leader he's been around....which was not what I was expecting. Lol. That said someone is gonna pay Juju ridiculous money and I don't want that to be the Bears.
  21. I get it. But like someone else suggested this could be about Fields as well. Everyone wants to believe that he will be good once he has the talent around him. Well, here's more talent, let's see you take a step.
  22. Fwiw Claypool and Pickens have pretty much the exact same numbers. One more positive I saw is Claypool is the "Most efficient go route runner" and that's an area where Fields excels as well.
  23. Man. I can't believe the Packers didn't go out and get someone. To me they're essentially punting on the season by not doing so.
  24. Ehhhhh, I'd rather they do something now and see what they have in him for 9 days. Dude has flashed clear #1 potential, if he proves to be that and Mooney shows to be a #2 then you may not even have to invest super early on a WR.
