  1. As presently constituted, the Cubs are fielding a better lineup than the White Sox. It should be a tough two game series for the Sox. Hopefully, the Sox will be able to win one of the two games.
  2. Before yesterday, the Sox had a shot at a 156 loss season. Well, they still could lose 155.
  3. How about Vaughn for left field? Is there any significant drop-off in offensive and/or defensive quality of play going from Jimenez to Vaughn? I'm beginning to think Jimenez isn't the player most of us thought he would be. I'm not just talking about the fragility of Jimenez.
  4. The White Sox did that last year when they gave away Madrigal.
  5. When healthy, Jimenez can be the DH and he can have a DR. (Designated Runner)
  6. Anyone know what Shingo's up to these days?
  7. This current team can't pitch, hit or field. Other than than they're OK.
  8. Well, there's there's always the USFL.
  9. Disliking this team more and more each day. It's not because they're nasty creeps, there are other reasons. I have been a White Sox fan for a LONG time, and I've never seen a more injury-prone group of players in all those years. They're like delicate porcelain figurines. Couple that with a mediocre to poor defense, questionable starters, a shaky bullpen and a badly unbalanced lineup of right handed hitting DH types. I've never liked TLR even back in the 1980's. He's arrogant and out of touch. I still want this team to succeed, but it's difficult watching this mess day-to-day.
  10. I would have started my B team against Bieber since it was a likely loss even starting the A team. I would have started the A team in the 2nd game against a lesser pitcher. But, then I'm logical.
  11. The 2-5 hitters, Robert, Abreu, Grandal and Jimenez are hitting a robust .182 combined. With Giolito and Lynn out and the core of the lineup having miserable seasons so far, it's surprising the White Sox have won any games at all.
  12. One of my early thoughts is why does Grandal make $18.25M?
  13. Actually, like most White Sox fans, I'm in favor of Madrigal at second base. Unfortunately, that gift to the Cubs will live on in White Sox history.
  14. The core 2-5 hitters, Robert, Abreu, Grandal and Jimenez are hitting a lusty .198 combined. It's surprising the Sox are 6-3 with these players doing so poorly offensively.
  15. 83-79, first or second in ALC. Probably second behind Detroit.
  16. It's been five years and it's still too early to tell if it was a good trade for the White Sox. Moncada has been okay, but nothing like his advance billing. Diaz and Basabe, nothing. Kopech is the obvious wild card. If he develops into the stud starter that many still believe is possible, then it will have been a real good trade of Sale.
  17. How about Tadahito Iguchi? He turns 47 today. He may still be young enough.
  18. From my sources, I'm hearing Leury Garcia will be the starting right fielder and the White Sox management is seeking Gordon Beckham to come out of retirement to start at second. It would save a lot of money.
  19. Why spend a lot of money on a good player when you can sign an inexpensive mediocrity like Garcia?
  20. Obviously, the White Sox can't get anything in return in a trade of Kimbrel. The question is, if the Sox pay his entire salary, will any team accept Kimbrel as a gift. That's doubtful.
  21. It's strange to me that the White Sox have better odds than Boston, Tampa Bay, Milwaukee, Toronto and San Francisco.
