In his two years with the White Sox, Kelly has pitched in 72 games with a combined ERA of 5.54. He's been a $9 million a season failure.
-
If you take away the first four innings of last night's game, the White Sox beat the Twins 3-2. There's that.
-
I'm sure White Sox management will target a player who's injury prone, under performing, and uni-dimensional.
-
How can the White Sox start dismantling this team with the same management on hand that created it? That makes no sense .

Hahn may be a seller, but I don't want him buying.

7/4 Gamethread (Giolito vs. Bassitt)
Jerry McNertney replied to Chicago White Sox's topic in 2023 Season in Review
As the schedule stands today, the White Sox have 21 games remaining in July. Unfortunately, I see the Sox going 6-15 or 7-14 in those games. I hope I'm, wrong, but I think their season will be officially before the end of July. -

Someone in White Sox management should tell Anderson that it would be beneficial to the team if he were to get a hit occasionally. -

The Oakland pitcher has an ERA of 6.84 so far this year. Look for him to pitch seven shout-out innings, striking out eleven. -
The White Sox lost a one run game to a better team on the road. That's about the best result fans can hope for in this miserable year.

Vaughn is hitting .237 this year, and in 1189 career at bats he's hitting .251. Those are not the numbers expected from a #3 overall pick. It looks like he's just average offensively and below average defensively. He's still young, so maybe he'll still find "it", but 1189 at bats is no longer a small sample size.

June 13th Game Thread - Chicago @ Los Angeles

The "Benderson" duo added seven more homerless at bats last night. That brings the season total to 423 at bats without a single home run. That's remarkable. -

In an attempt to put a favorable spin on this dreadful season, if you take away the first inning, the White Sox tied the Dodgers in the top of the ninth. -
Giolito is probably at his peak trade value right now.

6/3 Sox vs. Tigers 1:10PM CT
Jerry McNertney replied to DoUEvenShift's topic in 2023 Season in Review
Okay, just another 15-20 more wins in a row and the White Sox will be back to respectibility. -
Lynn has turned into 275 pounds of glue.

Just a bad game. In reality, the Tigers aren't much better than the White Sox.

The Baltimore Orioles in 2021 had a record of 52-110. This year as of today, their record is 31-16. That's a successful rebuild.

Winning five of the last six is fine. But,the White Sox played so poorly for so long this year that I can't take them seriously. If they can go on an extended streak of winning fifteen out of twenty, then maybe. I just don't think the White Sox have the depth of quality pitching to play real well for an extended period.

5/19: Royals @ White Sox - 7:10 PM Start

If the White Sox score seven or eight runs like they did in the first two games against Cleveland, they'll probably win tonight. Scoring only one run like yesterday made no sense. -
Garfein: Tim Anderson hates pitch clock, not Chicago

I hate Tim Anderson's defensive liabilities. -

The White Sox should try to score eight runs every game, like they did yesterday. If they do, they would probably win more often. -

If the White Sox win one of these three games against Cleveland, it would be considered a successful series. -
In today's power rankings, the White Sox are #28. Is the championship window open or shut?
