  1. Please no more Wright on the mound this season. Seems like he's always out there, laboring through an inning even when he doesn't give up a run. No excuse for that eighth inning. By the way, I thought Jose was safe.
  2. Who cares? Pitchers should stop throwing at Jose. Glad Jose didn't get injured in any brawl.
  3. Right now, Fields should be standing on the sidelines holding a clip board. Otherwise, it is a minor miracle the Bears have one win, and they did all they could to blow that one. It's been a long time since the franchise has been in this bad a shape. It has also been a long time since they have won a playoff game, and it will be a long time before they win another.
  4. Good to see a win without depending on a home run. Kopech still needs to learn how to pitch.
  5. Do the Bears even have an offense? This offense reminds me of the pathetic Bear offenses of the Seventies. The defense would get a turnover, and then tell the offense "to hold them."
  6. You're right about the country's divisions. However, the hostility and threats against health care workers is insane and goes beyond people not listening. There is a large group of people who think intimidation and violence is a way to handle problems, They were there on January 6 and they are a part of the anti-vaccine crowd. We would be over this crisis if it weren't for these morons.
  7. There isn't real reason to watch the rest of this so-called game.
  8. There's a doctor in Michigan that has said that dying Covid patients are still denying they have the disease with their last breaths. They also say they would rather die than take the vaccine. Then they die. And health care providers get a great deal of hostility from families of dying patients if there is a diagnosis of Covid. This kind of thinking and denial is just plainly insane. Dr, Fauci and many other medical professionals have received death threats. There is a potential for violence if someone is asked to wear a fucking mask. There is something wrong with our society and it is going to get worse. And please, Greg, no more of your inane conspiracy theories.
  9. During the playoffs, if a team scores one run in two games, most likely it will lose both games. During the season, the Sox have been shut out 11 times and scored one run 14 times. In those 14 one-run games, the Sox won 1. Yes, in the playoffs a team can win low scoring games, but it will do better than one. This offense is puzzling. It should be ,more consistent than this and needs to be do well in the post-season.
  10. Great to see this for Abreu. He had to spend some long years on some bad teams. May this be the beginning of many more.
  11. The only problem is that the Sox aren't playing like a playoff team now. It would help if they started to do that.
  12. I actually think any wild card with over 100 wins should have HFA against a division winner with less wins. A team with over wins travelling to play a division winner is absurd. Regular season should mean something.
  13. It will be tough for one of these teams being a wild card with over 100 wins.
  14. Hopefully the game is called. Detroit has beaten the Sox four times in a row. Would like to see the team beat the Indians in the first game tomorrow and put this to rest already. Hope the weather in Cleveland is okay.
  15. Being concerned about the team is not being on the ledge. The best pitcher on the team may not be able to pitch, and the team has other problems. That alone doesn't mean they can't have a good post-season; it is just something to be concerned about. And how a team plays in September may be an indication of how it may do in the post season. The regular season does mean something. Now that doesn't mean anyone can predict anything. Baseball is the hardest sport to predict. But the Sox play better at home than on the road, and it looks like they won't have any HFA unless they play a wild card team in the ALCS.
  16. Yes, I am aware of situations like this. And it is true, that all kinds of things happen in the post season. The Sox still have a good starting staff, and Eloy might break out of it. But these situations have nothing to do with the 2021 White Sox. I would just feel better if the Sox turned it around. When was the last time they went on a winning streak? In reality, the AL is wide open. Any of the playoff contenders could end up in the World Series. It could even be the White Sox. I'm just not counting on it.
  17. Nope, I don't know where you got that. Cleveland won't catch up to anyone. All I'm saying is that the Sox went into the second Detroit game with a chance to clinch a tie for the division title and they came up flat. The last eight games the Sox have played sub.500 teams and they went 3-5. They are playing uninspired baseball right now, and I'd like to see them turn it around before the post season. Think about it. They go in to play the Tigers on the verge on accomplishing something important. They didn't do it, at least not yet.
  18. The division title should have been clinched before getting to Detroit. At the very least, it should have been clinched on leaving Detroit. Fans can get mad at Danny all they want, but the Sox have been bad for a while. Anything can happen in a short series, but it won't for Sox if they keep playing like this. They need to get on some kind of streak for the rest of the regular season. They are not just going to "turn it on" if this trend continues.
  19. You are right about this. The last few days the Sox have lost three close games. Those are the games good teams are supposed to win. Those teams get the clutch hit and make the right pitch. The Sox haven't been doing it. They need to start doing it.
  20. Or at least double-digit hits. Too bad their offense wilted again last night. A win would have clinched it without an Indians loss. The Anderson situation is odd. Why isn't he playing? He has had more than enough rest. Something isn't right, and it hasn't been right for a time. Maybe Keuchel can be like most pitchers nowadays and go five innings.
  21. I hope the Sox come prepared to play today. The Tigers are not going to lay down for them.
  22. The simple fact is that deaths went down after the vaccine was being given. And now we see hospitals being jammed with Covid patients who didn't get the vaccine. As a result many people are being denied medical care because there is no space for them. What are you going to say to those being denied medical care? They don't have rights? I recently got a shot for shingles. I had put it off because of known side effects. But the thought of getting a painful condition pushed me to act. I experienced no side effects and have some peace of mind. I also have some peace of mind because I got the vaccine. This crisis would have been better managed if people weren't so paranoid.
  23. That would work out well. My dream scenario is that the Sox win out two out of three in Detroit, and Cleveland sweeps KC. Then the Sox beat the Indians to clinch. Win without scoreboard watching and win on their own to show they are more than winners of a weak division. They should want to do it this way. Then they can celebrate all they want.
  24. It would help now if Tony stopped resting people.
