  1. If there is any source I don't believe about the pandemic, it is Fox News. That goes for most other things as well.
  2. You're putting up a link from Fox News, the propaganda network?
  3. The DUI stuff always catches up with people. I can't stand Stone already. Hopefully, the Sox can go deep in the playoffs this year. LaRussa and his supporters can take credit if they want. Then hopefully, LaRussa will not be manager in 2022.
  4. Everybody loves the home run, but offenses that rely on the homer can be streaky. If an offense depends too much on the long ball, they are vulnerable to losing streaks. When it comes to winning, balance has to be there.
  5. The Cubs are still the popular franchise with the Disneyland surrounding their ballpark. But the Lovable Loser days are over. Their fans are not going to be happy with another tank job. The team may actually see that popularity fade some if the losing continues. They are going to have to spend their way out of this especially if the White Sox keep winning and maintain success.
  6. If he was actually doing this, it wasn't very subtle.
  7. This is an understatement. They gave one multi-run lead today, and tried to give up another. How about a reliever who doesn't fall behind hitters right off the bat? Still, this has been an amazing first half. The development of Vaughn, and contributions from guys liked Engel, Hamilton, and Goodwin has been something else. Get back Eloy and Robert,, get a couple of relievers and win this damn thing.
  8. I never expected Engel show power like this. You're right. This could be a breakthrough for him. Nearing the trading deadline, this team doesn't need outfielders. It needs at least one decent arm in the bullpen. I would prefer two, but that is asking too much.
  9. This is the best the White Sox have been at the break since 2005. Bullpen still causes nightmares.
  10. The Diamondbacks are a complete embarrassment. Almost 40 games under .500 at the ASB. I was in St. Louis recently and took in a Dbacks-Cardinals game. In the bottom of the seventh inning, Arizona's relief pitcher was clearly spent. He had already thrown over 60 pitches and had given up four runs. But he was left in and gave up a two-run homer before finally getting out of the inning. The game, which had been close, had been turned into a joke. People would expect Arizona to be sellers. But if the team gives up what little talent it has, how bad are they going to get? Now a 22-1 loss to the Dodgers. Was that even a major league game? This is nothing but pathetic.
  11. Getting help in the bullpen should be the top priority. Giving up late inning leads won't get the team anywhere in the post-season. Getting any other player in addition to a reliever would be nice but not on the top of the list.
  12. My opposition to LaRussa was based on the Front Office's decision not even to interview or consider anyone else. My mind hasn't been changed since then. The reasoning behind this decision just didn't make any sense. The Yermin situation was totally botched. Give LaRussa credit for the team's record at this point. However, I don't think he is the long-run solution to the manager's job. I'd like to have someone else in the position in 2022. No apologies from me. Besides, this season isn't over yet, and the White Sox haven't won anything at this point.
  13. Billy Hamilton sure has fun out there. Makes the game pleasurable to watch.
  14. Maybe it's a good idea to give Tim a rest for one night. He hasn't looked like himself for a time now.
  15. Plugging one hole is one thing. The Sox have more than one hole. Hahn certainly knows more than I do, but I don't have high hopes. If a decent deal comes down, good. I am not anticipating it.
  16. I read a piece by a Cubs writer who said he doubts the Cubs will be active as they don't think they will get much for players like Bryant, Baez or Contreras. I don't think the Sox will be as active at the trade deadline as fans hope. The injuries are piling up, and you can't rebuild a team in July.
  17. I wouldn't be all that crazy about that one, either.
  18. Ah, yes, the attendance championships. How I envy them.
  19. Yes. Although I have been worried for a while.
  20. I agree with this. There's a cloud over Bauer's head, and it would be wise not to play him until there is at least some kind of progress in the investigation. Like I said in an earlier post, I'm glad he's not on the White Sox. I wouldn't go to Guaranteed Rate to see him.
  21. It was disappointing, but typical. The Sox will win the division, but it won't be easy. More tough times are ahead.
  22. There have been serious injuries in All-Star games. Glad for the Sox players being picked, but preferred they didn't play. Game means nothing.
  23. The disturbing thing about sports, especially at the professional level, is that the macho stuff sometimes turns into real abuse and violence. This situation still needs to be investigated, but, on the surface, it is more than ugly. I'm glad Bauer isn't on the White Sox. I don't want to cheer him on.
  24. Tony LaRussa. I opposed his hire. I didn't like the way it came down, and I still don't think he was the right man for this team at this moment. But the team is in first and probably will win the division. Having said that, I hope someone else in that job in 2022. Another whipping boy. Jerry Reinsdorf. Sometimes he doesn't deserve it. Sometimes, he does in a big way.
  25. I think 90 wins takes this division. The Sox would have to play one game over .500 in the second 81 games to do this. I think they can do that.
