The lack of common sense has hurt us. Strong laws are hard to enforce when people get hostile about just wearing a mask. My family's Thanksgiving will be much different this year, and I am not travelling anywhere.
-
All I can say, Greg, it is amazing how many people think Trump won this election, but think the virus is a hoax.
-
The momentum is gaining strength, and there is no reason for Trump to hang on. There is absolutely no reason not to concede this election, or at least allow the transition to proceed. What's her name at the GSA needs to stop obstructing the process. Hillary Clinton accepted her loss, and so did Al Gore. Time for Trump to act like an adult if that's possible. This is insane. Trumpism is in the shithole. Trump should do this just so Guiliani can be put out of his misery.

Sometimes I wonder about people. I really do.

So many times when Republicans do things like jam through a Supreme Court appointee, they say "elections have consequences." This election has consequences, too. Biden has won, he is now forming his government, and it is now time to move on. The Michigan stuff is absurd. Biden won by over 150,000. At this point, I don't care if Trump ever concedes. Let's just get on with transition. And, yes, it is time to deal with the Pandemic. The GOP is in denial about the pandemic as they are about the election. Time to cope with reality. People are dying and more is on the way.
-
Yes, this should happen. There is no evidence whatsoever of election fraud, and the transition needs to progress. These suits do nothing but fan paranoia. There is always a possibility of a close election being stolen. This was not a close election. There is too much at stake for wasting time with grievances that are not grievances. We are in the middle of a debilitating crisis, and this legal team is doing harm to their country. It is time for the head of the GSA to ascertain this election, and it is time recognize what happened in this election. Then some legislation needs to be passed so this nonsense never happens again. The country is so much bigger than Donald Trump.

I agree with this totally. This is not a time to worry about government regulations. This is a time to force any employer to make the work place as safe as possible. Many of us have taken risks when working in dangerous environments, but there shouldn't be out and out negligence. Secondly, no one should directly profit from this crisis. It amazes me that some blue collar workers identify so strongly with Trump when it is obvious that he doesn't care about them.
-
I also feel for them. It is their job to protect him, but he should have taken some precautions about them getting infected. It is one thing to take a bullet for a guy, it's quite another to suffer with this virus.

I have been thinking of the degradation people who work with or for Trump have to go through on a daily basis. There is Pence and his groveling. Pompeo and his talking about a "second Trump administration." There is William Barr who needs to be disbarred. There was Sean Spicer and his lies about adoring Trump crowds. And finally the former New York City Mayor making a total laughing stock out of himself. To go along with all of this is all the stupid talk that Covid happened just to ruin Donald Trump and the total idiocy of a stolen election that Trump has lost by over 6,000,000. And the idea that his followers really think he cares about them when he doesn't care about his own family, and the talk about riots that don't exist.

This is no time to settle personal scores. Putting the country through this for no good reason is inexcusable. Hillary Clinton accepted her loss. How many times were there chants of "lock her up?" How many times did she have to testify about Benghazi including a 12-hour marathon? I understand you are not praising him for it, but I don't see the logic at all. He's doing too much damage. I guess what I am saying is that this man defies logic.

I have written both of my US Senators from Indiana and have not heard back from either. I don't anticipate hearing from them. Both are cowards.
-
I can see I would be on the opposite side of the fence of you, but if we can agree on a honest campaign system, I believe we would probably find something else we can agree on. I really don't expect much from the politicians, but I do expect that votes will not be stolen and we live by the results of an election. What is going on now is beyond belief. In addition to the election nonsense, the Covid crisis is being ignored. There one other thing I expect from my government. When the population is threatened by something, the government should act. In times like these, I don't care about a party agenda or politician's ambition. Just be human and do a coupe things right.

Michigan legislators are supposed to come to the White House to strategize with Trump. How can a state legislature even think of picking slate of electors to cast their ballot for a losing candidate is beyond me. Even if, in the end, this doesn't make any difference, the Congress should not accept a slate of electors for a candidate who lost a state by over 100,00 votes. This gets worse by the day and by the minute. Trump is beyond being a disgrace.
-
Exactly. They sat by in 2000 and let the election be taken from them. It seems like everybody is just sitting by and doing nothing as Trump runs rampant. He had no business contacting the Michigan people, and he has no business inserting himself in the process whatsoever. Some action needs to be taken. Perhaps the Dems should start suing some people. Merely complaining is useless.
-
Apparently Trump contacted the Republican election officials in Wayne County, Michigan. Something like this should never have happened just as Lindsay Graham contacting the Secretary of State in Georgia. This stuff is way, way over the top. Trump should resign as of now. We still have a crisis facing the country, and all he is doing is trying to overturn an election that was not all that close. This is just another example of abuse of power that has happened with his presidency from day one. But all Mitch McConnell cares about is confirming judges and the remainder of his spineless party is going right along with him.

This is an excellent question for which I have no answer. And to his base: You moan about being shut out of the process, but you walk around with assault rifles, try to run a Biden campaign bus off the road, and show up in masse to intimidate vote counters. And guess what? You do this for a guy who has done absolutely nothing for you. During one of his rallies in Michigan, Trump spoke of new automobile assembly plants in that state. Guess what? There are no new plants in Michigan and there was a net loss of 3,000 auto jobs during Trump's term. But make America great again. Remember that when you think of the tax breaks your man gave to the rich and elite. And remember that when you think of Trump trying to defy the will of the people.
-
Yes, but we have heard next to nothing from her lately. Even Trump was embarrassed by her. She is no longer relevant. It would be great if the same happened to Trump. He really has nothing to say. He just blathered at his rallies. It is funny that when Hillary Clinton won the popular vote but lost the Electoral College, the Democrats didn't cry like babies about a fixed election. Now Trump loses the Electoral College and the popular vote by almost 6,000,000, the election is fixed. And it is funny that the Dems lost House seats, and will not gain control the Senate in the same election. This is what should happen if this guy doesn't concede and get on with the transition as by law: The House should impeach, the Senate should convict and he should be thrown out. Then unlike Palin, he will truly be remembered.
-
I guess what you're saying, Greg, is that Biden will be a great president if he acts like a Republican. Jim Jordan? A total asshole.
-
I agree. This attempted move in Michigan was outrageous. There is no way this election is going to be overturned, and it' s time Trump start acting like a president. He hasn't for four years, but it is never too late.
-
He finally got the team to turn the corner, and then did the right thing with Renteria and Cooper. Then came LaRussa. Should be an interesting off-season.
-
If everything is transparent about its development and testing, I would take it. If it had come out right around election time, I would have be highly skeptical. But like I said, everything would have to be transparent, and the public would have to be fully informed. It can't be like the rest of the handling of this pandemic. This can't be political or opportunistic. We've had enough of that already.
-
You may be right about that, even though we just passed the 250,000 mark in deaths. Grassley says he is feeling all right, but he is 87 and that makes him vulnerable. The whole denial reaction to the virus is mind-boggling but very real. We see that it is not going away. I just hope we can get through the next months until the vaccine comes. But the vaccine won't solve everything.
-
I don't understand such hostility on the Senate floor. A ton of politicians or people connected with the government in DC have come down with the virus. Fortunately, there have been no deaths. Is that what will it take for these people to wake up? Masks are not comfortable. So what. It's time for these so-called leaders to grow up.
-
We have been ready for a new owner, but I don't even want to speculate about it. This has been discussed many times over the years. JR will run the team for as long as he wants, and we just have to accept that.
-
This is frustrating. And it so hard to fight this disease when we can't come to a simple consensus about social distancing and mask wearing. Sometimes I wonder why Biden wanted to be president so bad. Things are only going to get tougher.
