  1. Trump has denigrated two groups: veterans and health care providers. Both have put their lives on the line and both have lost their lives. It is curious that this man lashes out at people that most respect.
  2. The White Flag Trade almost destroyed the franchise. I don't care how vindicated JR felt by 2000. I have been a fan for a hell of a long time and the late '90's was the worst time to be a Sox fan. The 2000 team was the only Sox team that won a division and didn't draw 2,000,000, and there was a damn good reason for it. We will see how bad this gets. Gee, I hope JR ends up telling us how wrong we were. What anticipation!
  3. I think Brooks Boyer is a pretty decent guy and has done a great job to open up the dialogue between the franchise and the fans. And it was needed. He is in a difficult position here. If he doesn't agree with the decision, he can't say so, and he is not the one who makes such decisions anyway.
  4. Aside from the legalities and bad PR, here is my problem with this. It has been common knowledge that LaRussa has had some sort of drinking problem. Hiring him was a risk no matter what he has accomplished in the past, and it was a risk that didn't need to be taken. The team just spent years losing on the field and was losing credibility in the process. This was an incredible step backwards and was an unforced error. And this controversy is not going away.
  5. You can take exception all you want, but if Trump really was a patriot, he would have conceded and started the transition process like past presidents. The simple fact is the fraud stuff has no foundation whatsoever. How do you steal over 75 million votes? And how do you think many of us felt when this mope was elected four years ago when he lost the popular vote by nearly 3 million? We accepted it because that was the system we lived under even though it make us sick to realize an idiot like Trump was going to sit in the Oval Office. You are not a lousy American, and you don't have to like Joe or congratulate him. I just get tired of people buying into everything Trump says when he lies 95% of the time. He has damaged the country and he can't leave fast enough. As far as Georgia goes, think back to 2018 and all the voter suppression not to mention the Secretary of State of Georgia was overseeing an election in which he was a candidate for governor. Slight conflict of interest there? I'll tell you what happened in Georgia: People registered to vote and then voted. It's called a democracy, something that Trump knows nothing about. Maybe he ought to try it sometime.
  6. That's just it, there is no reason to try a lawsuit. Trump should be acting like a president and patriot. Instead, he is acting like a petulant child who isn't getting his way. The transition should be on the way. One more thing about Rudy G, as you call him. At one time, he was a respected public servant. Now he is a laughing stock. He went to Ukraine to dig up dirt on Hunter Biden and came back with nothing. He has nothing now. I don't know who is more pathetic. Trump or his supporters who buy this crap. BTW, how many staff, supporters and family of Trump have Covid now? Do we have that count?
  7. This is a good recalling of history. Sometimes it is good to dig in your heels and stick to your convictions. Sometimes it's a matter of being stubborn, and that is not good. It only compounds the mistake. And this hiring was a mistake for many reasons. It couldn't happen at a worse time. The team is winning back fans by gaining their confidence and now this happens. Reinsdorf needs to get a little humility. Everyone makes mistakes, and those mistakes are easier to correct when a person admits a fault. He should have learned from the fiasco of 1986. It seems to me that he learned the wrong lesson.
  8. I can't see JR giving in to public pressure. He just doesn't like people telling him how to run his team. Maybe if things get way out of hand, something may happen. But I don't know what that could be. The team will probably ride out the storm. I just don't understand why this hire was made in the first place. LaRussa, with his history, would be the last person I'd hire. Meanwhile, we are stuck with him.
  9. Rudy is a hack that has no credibility whatsoever. He used to be called "America's Mayor." Now he should be called "America's Asshole." If there is any fraud , it is by the Republicans. Voter suppression and intimidation is high on their list. There is no reason for the courts to intercede, especially courts dominated by the Republicans. Joe Biden will be the 46th president. If the courts intercede, let them send Trump to prison. It should have happened a long time ago.
  10. I agree. I don't care about his politics and people can vote as they choose. It's his ability or no-ability to run the team that worries me.
  11. The denial and the bad judgement continues. And to think this election was this close. And to think what damage has been done the country.
  12. Because there is no grievance here. There is absolutely no evidence of fraud anywhere. He is not being wronged here; he is wronging the country with these stupid and fabricated conspiracy theories. It is time that Trump and his supporters leave la-la land and join the rest of us in reality. It is time for transition. Any recounts will only confirm that Donald Trump lost. And he lost despite his many efforts to sabotage this election. And he is demonstrating why he doesn't belong in a position of power and authority. He wants to be a dictator even though he has lost by almost 5 million votes. Hillary Clinton had a bigger beef than than Trump. She lost three key states by a mere 77,000 votes. She won the overall popular vote. She was ten times more qualified than Trump and ten times smarter. Yet, she accepted her election loss under the system. I guess she was a bigger man than he is being right now. On January 20, Trump will have to leave the White House. I only hope it is in hand cuffs. That is how the judicial system should work. Trump on trial and then Trump in prison.
  13. Yes, it is obvious that he has a problem, and the White Sox had to know that when they decided to hire him. They not only made a bad choice, they are enabling an alcoholic. I have a feeling things are only going to worsen. Someone has to explain to me why this choice was made in the first place.
  14. Why am I not surprised? It is amazing that the Trump denial act goes on and on. Not amazing that he doesn't care for the people who work for him. Meanwhile, how many more are there?
  15. They do seem not to have that concept even with their complete incompetence is showing. This is taking denial to the extreme. And the rest of the GOP seems to have no shame as well.
  16. I watched very little of this game because there is no real reason to watch the Bears, but I saw this play. This play was pathetic. Third and 13, let's throw a screen pass behind the line of scrimmage and turn it into a 16-yard play. Not to mention it was purely executed from the start and it fooled no one. The fumble was inevitable because this play was so bad. Yes, Nagy needs to go, but so do many others. Remember when the media was ripping fans because we didn't believe in this first place team? Well, we knew horse shit when we saw it. But don't worry, Foles is being positive.
  17. It probably is wire fraud, and the Trumpies are being taken again. Just like that pervert in Alabama who tried to raise money to challenge an election he lost. Like Trump, he didn't accept his loss, but didn't get financial support. Time for this shit to end, and it would be nice if Trump resigned and let Pence handle the transition. Then Pence can ride off into the sunset.
  18. I see your point, Greg. I'd see it clearer if Trump wasn't such a pathetic excuse for a human being. Maybe with him gone, divisions can be healed or least progress can be made in that area. He was nothing but a loud-mouthed divider.
  19. It is so funny that Trump and his supporters cry about a stolen election. It was the Trump Administration that sabotaged the Post Office system to hamper mail in voting. There was the Texas governor who took down drop off boxes for early voting. And it was Trump supporters hanging around vote processing centers in an attempt to interfere with the vote counting. They did all of this and more and they still lost their asses. Now the dumb ass refuses to concede as the Covid cases mount in the White House. His goof ball supporters say "it's not over," when it has been over for almost a week. This spectacle would be funny if it wasn't so scary. And they say Trumpism isn't dead? Now that is a truly scary thought. Finally, and not as a surprise, Republican leaders are sitting on their asses and not doing a damned thing to discourage this shit.
  20. Yet he expects undying loyalty. There is nothing like a one-way street.
  21. For every reaction there is a strong reaction. Trump had a rabid following but that brought an intense opposition. People waited in long lines or made sure they voted early. Of course, it also helped that Trump had two bad debates, and never put out a vision for a second term. He also had a vacant-faced running mate.
  22. Yes, they are crazy. And if the election was fixed, why has the electoral college been so close? Why did the Dems lose House seats and not get control of the Senate? Oh, I forgot. This has been all about Trump. The whole campaign will go down in history as a bad reflection on the state of the country. We will have a long way to repair the damage.
  23. I saw a report of a Nevada election official giving a small press conference. A Trump supporter stepped up to the microphone yelling and screaming that everything has been fixed. The Trumpie left and the official calmly asked, "Where was I?" There also have been accounts of PA election workers being escorted to their cars by police because of physical threats. Election workers should be applauded for the work they have done. They are obviously under extreme pressure. It starts with the people who are drinking the Trump Kool-Aid. An honest account of election results cannot happen under threat. And Trump has done extreme damage by playing into the anger and frustrations of people who have no confidence in just about anything.
  24. My sister told me that she had been exposed to a co-worker who tested positive. Then that result was changed to inconclusive. Regardless, my sister will be tested even though she has shown no symptoms for five days. If she is positive, my wife and I will need to be tested. I spoke to a cousin who I haven't talked to for some time. He had the virus and was able to recover. But he said he had been so lethargic, he was barely able to stand up. A small gym I train at is closing down for a week because more and more of the gym's clients have been exposed. Trump said the news about Covid will stop after the election. No, Donald, this is still affecting people every day. This hasn't been about you, shocking as that sounds.
  25. There is something called the National Transition Act which mandates that the outgoing president to assist the new president transition into power. Of course, Trump was never one to worry about legalities although I heard a report that aides have been in touch with Biden people and are cooperating. Otherwise I only hope Trumpie doesn't do anything real dangerous. At least some Republicans have been pushing back at him regarding his claims about election fraud.
