Mitch does this most of the time. He shows flashes of potential but the offense just plods along most of the time. During the first half, first down plays were productive with the running game, but that didn't translate into points. I really think the fourth quarter rally will only further the denial. It is time to move on from the Mitch experiment.

I agree. Transparency is vital when it comes to the vaccine. There are so many people who won't take any vaccine, and the situation is worsened if the vaccine is used for monetary or political gain. I, for one, will not take a vaccine released two days before the election. The response to the pandemic has been bad enough.

It's time the Sox do something against the Twins. Ever since the Blackout Game, the Twins have dominated the Sox. If the team is serious about the post-season, beat the Twins first. It is way overdue.

I went with 10-7 and they could win one or two more. I know the club has its issues, but there is something about the White Sox that gives me optimism. And I am not the real optimistic when it comes to this team.

All Trump needed to do in this case was be a leader and he wasn't. It was really pretty simple. All resources of the federal government and the country should have been used to battle this pandemic. That would have helped enormously and the country and Trump would have been much better off. Instead we have wide-spread denial and utter stupidity. Yes, everything - the sickness, the deaths, the tragedies- were all engineered to embarrass Trump. Yep. Dumb asses. God-damned dumb asses.

I really think this is unthinkable. I doubt that Lopez will get past the second inning. And Rodon is mentioned as having some role. When was the last time he threw a pitch?

This is one big drawback of the expanded playoffs. It cheapens the season somewhat. We fans shouldn't be having this debate. It should always be better to win the division.

It is a weird subject. People complain about their rights, but after 9/11 hardly anyone complained about W reading their e-mails. And no, God is not going to protect anyone. The mask has more of a chance to protect someone.

The Cubs are now seeing the downside of the long Lester contract. They are now paying big money for a pitcher in his twilight.

White Sox v Royals - Cease vs Duffy - 9/3/20 GT
NWINFan replied to ShoeLessRob's topic in 2020 Season in Review
These games are not give-mes. KC played the Sox tough in Chicago. Plus home run hitting teams can go cold for long stretches. -
At the very least, there should be some serious thinking about Renteria and the entire field management staff during the off-season. The rebuild has to move onto its next stage. Theo saw or took an opportunity to get Maddon and said good-bye to Renteria. Perhaps the Sox should do the same. But change comes hard for this organization as we all know. I think this off-season will be a real indicator of how serious the White Sox are about turning the club into an elite franchise. Or will it be happy winning 84 games?

It is so nice to watch games that actually mean something. It has been a long time.

Realistic trade candidates AKA The Lynnsanity Thread
NWINFan replied to Orlando's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I'm with Brian Anderson. I am not into making trades right now. Looks like the Sox are going to the post season and young players are getting a chance to get playing time. The rebuild has taken time; it can take a little more. Make some serious moves in the off season and the team can go from there. -
All I will say is what several others have said. There are many things more important than sports. That is why there are no fans in the stands. To say the least, the country is going through an awful time right now. Sports comes in a distant second even though it helps to have a diversion.

Cub fans probably don't even know the Pirates are in their division.

Jason has improved a great deal, and he is beginning to find himself. Also, as time goes on, he is beginning to learn more about the game. He is also a likable person. The chemistry between him and Stone is good. During the later years, the tension between Stone and Harrelson didn't make for a good broadcast. You could sense Stone cringe when Hawk would say some of his stupid stuff. For those who miss Hawk: It was time for him to go. Between his two stints, Hawk put in 30 years in the broadcast booth. That's long enough. Time for a new era.

Meaning 31 games into the season. SouthWallace mentioned the 23-10 start. That seems so long ago, and I barely remember it. It really wasn't that long ago. That's why I am enjoying this while it lasts. It seems so awfully long ago. Regardless, it's nice to play in games that matter. It's been a long time for that, too.

Next year will not be easy. Can't be good to out of action for this long. Will have to work on his command. He didn't have it when he came up.

When was the last year the White Sox had 19 wins at this point in the season? It's been a while, hasn't it?

During the post-game, Ozzie suggested that some fans be let in the stadium for the last series against the Cubs. No, Ozzie, no. Now, will you please go away?

An in-law of mine who is a big Cub fan posted a fake news item that was supposed to be funny. It was an announcement from the baseball commissioner that all of Abreu's home runs have been wiped off the record books because he had used steroids or other enhancers. Again, she was trying to laugh things off, but in a way she wasn't. She was trying to pretend that the pounding her favorite team took at the hands of Abreu and others didn't happen. Yes, Cub fans, it did happen. Too bad you weren't there to see it happen. You were have gotten sore arms from throwing opposition home runs back especially since they had been hit so far. Yes, it happened, and most likely, it will happen again.

I feel the same way. The great thing about this is that fans can feel this way without thinking they are like goof-ball, pie-in-the-sky Cub fans. I can't remember any Sox team going through such a period. It is really time to believe. It is so great to be able to believe.

This has been an incredible stretch of games. First Jose, now Lucas. I can't remember anything like this as a Sox fan. There is something about this team. Words can't describe what is going on. At the beginning of the season, I hoped for .500. Now I think they can do just about anything.
