  1. Wow, I did a double take - I can't remember the last time I watched a baseball broadcast without the strikezone overlayed. EDIT - literally the pitch I posted this, it suddenly popped up lol
  2. woah sorry, never meant to imply you were a bad fan or anything like that, I was just trying to pep talk you up a bit. That said, I hope the other things in your life get better, sped along by good vibes from a White Sox win today
  3. Last week was miserable. Horrible. A kick in the nuts. But it was last week, the week is over, the season is over, its all in the past. WE ARE IN THE PLAYOFFS FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 12 YEARS. Time to reset and get excited my man.
  4. Been too busy to post much lately but I just want to say I am hella stoked because WE ARE IN THE FUCKING PLAYOFFS BABY LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOOOO
  5. That would only be if you are guaranteed to face one of the best teams at some point. Here, with how random playoffs can be, I think you would rather take your chances that you don't have to play them at all.
  6. As much flak as he has gotten this week, I actually really respect Ray's decision to just close out of sox talk lately. If you can be optimistic about the Sox this week, I am happy for you, and I understand it must be annoying for an optimist to be surrounded by angry and depressed fans. But you are not going to talk them out of those emotions any more than they will (or should) talk you into depression, and it just annoys both sides, so just walk away! It sounds simple - doomspiral sox fans are ruining your enjoyment so don't spend time with doomspiralling sox fans - but I think we all know how hard it can be to keep sox talk closed, so yeah, I just respect the ability to know when its best for yourself personally to walk away and to be able to execute that. (Not that I am saying optimistic fans NEED to go away! Just that it is sometimes, like this week, it may be the right decision for them.)
  7. Yeah, if I am being honest I still have the game open on my second monitor, but only because it gives me good incentive to keep working, so I don't have to watch.
  8. *Turns on TV* "........oh. ok." *turns off TV*
  9. Same but I'll confess, I didn't really believe my own prediction, not fully anyway, I was just trying to send some positive vibes haha. How could I ever doubt this team against a lefty though!
  10. MIA got Starling Marte for dirt at the deadline, imagine him playing everyday instead of Mazara.
  11. No RR, no Cordero, AND we are facing a lefty SP? IDK, I kind of think we might finally snap out of it tonight
  12. Not just as a WS fan but as a baseball fan, it would be really fun if the Twins lose tonight, and CLE and the WS win. 3 way tie heading into the last game of the season! It has been a miserable slog for us but the last week must have been exciting as hell for neutral fans around the league.
  13. 2/3 of our horrible losses to CLE came because we had dudes on the mound in critical situations who were not even on the roster 3 days later.
  14. The Indians and Cubs did. Of course, the Indians and Cubs got to play us. Can we play us? Let's do another intersquad scrimmage on Monday to bust our slump!
  15. The way this team looks, needing a third starter seems optimistic lol. (Honestly so numb that even I don't know if I am kidding here)
  16. He's following the same development track where he had stuff but no control, tries to work on control, and instead ends up with hittable stuff with also no control
  17. I think y'all are missing maybe the most important part: "Renteria had a short outing in mind for Rodon, being this is the sort of situation he will face in the playoffs." Why? Why would this be a situation he would face in the playoffs? You have a ton of bullpen arms, unless shit goes sideways you are never going to be in a situation where there are men on base and Rodon is your only option. It is completely in your control to make sure he only comes in for clean innings. In fact, you could guarantee it by making him an opener! Why in the world would you take a SP who is notoriously slow to discover his fastball control and decide he is suddenly there for high-leverage and stopper situations when he is just now being converted to a RP???
  18. I see where you are coming from but 1) I think you can only do it if we had won 1 or 2 of the last few games. 4 game sweep to your division rivals will fuck with the locker room, this game was too important to throw away on an experiment. 2) Again, a good manager sets his players up for success. First, give Rodon low-leverage clean innings to work the rust off. Once he shows he can adapt to bullpen usage, THEN try him out in high-leverage. Literally nothing in Rodon's career gives any evidence that he would do well in the situation he was brought into. If this was someone like, idk, Dunning, who has shown great control, maybe you can jump straight to trying him in this scenario (still really really don't like it after a guy has missed weeks due to injury - while Bummer is the obvious choice over Rodon there I still don't love bringing him in either), but not Rodon.
  19. tsk tsk, guess he's calling the game like a football announcer and not a baseball announcer
  20. Despite RR, we somehow still have a chance to win this. Grandal walk, MVPito homerun, and then its easy as pie for RR to put in Colome.
  21. Oh an another thing, how many times has RR had the opportunity to walk Jose Ramirez this series? He has refused to over and over, and Ramirez has punished us over and over. The dude batting after him is literally their version of EE! Make THAT dude beat you!!! It is not that fucking complicated.
